Subterranean Origin Bugged/Extremely weak?
I've been trying to use the Subterranean origin since I love the uncapped mining districts, but the more I do the more I'm convinced it's bugged somehow?

Despite the only negative being growth speed and pop size, I find that using this origin I am always suffering for base resource production, as low as around 20-30 each of credits and minerals about 20 years in. This is with an empire build that is usually producing at least triple that or more, with the only change being the origin.

Am I missing something? This would seem to be an origin that thrives at making basic resources, yet it always lags behind all almost all other ones I've tried.

Honestly, I'd prefer if the origin just gave the districts, even if that was it. The trade-offs just seem so crushing that it's just not ever worth taking.

District upkeep is likely effecting you. Thats the only thing I can think of

Need more information on your government choices, race choices, and planet builds.

Could it be the slower growth? Fewer pops means fewer resources.

Yeah can you give and specifics please? How quick so you settle, do you prebuild districts and too many specialist pops, how do you specialize your planets?

Cause right now it's really hard to assume the issue, there even is one with subterranean (my last subterranean lithoids went really really well so I dunno. Just don't dig too deep....}

+10% building/district cost kills any advantage you would get from +15% minerals. The pop growth penalty is decently big. This origin is very weak and you can argue if it doesnt give more penalties then bonus (compared to most other origins that just give bonus only)

However if you have this much issue its more likely to be your meta strategy causing the problem. You have too many specialists and not enough raw material income.

Are you making the rookie mistake of spamming industrial districts with not enough energy and mining districts to support them?

Hover over your mineral income and post a screenshot.
