It's probably going to make a mess of your factions, especially since you're materialist, a direct opposition.
Or at least confine all that lives on that world, only to that world so they don't spread around and create an even bigger mess.
I did spend years to change their weird autocratic spiritual ways into something more on par with my government before I infiltrated them. So being made conformist, once they leave their homeworld, they behave. And their homeworld itself didn't give me trouble yet either.

You should have made a video about it ... how to *not* deal with death god. ;P And apparently I also was right to watch the strength of these weird factions.
