OK so how do you pick your Ecu planets?
I was just looking at my Capital panet since I got that +30% research bonus on it now from that Mirror's Edge/Sphere quest. The only problem is I'm a Corporation and the Trade value on the planet alone is 700, but I'm currently making over 2k energy per month so the boosted research might be a good tradeoff.
I have +787 minerals per month and +462 food. I can increase food a ton if needed by swapping commercial for hydroponics. I am just trying to learn as much as I can from the experts before deciding which planet.
2) Later you want a planet without special features (that boosting +energy/minerals/food, as High gravity actually nice for ecumenopolis) & many disticts (mostly mineral one, but food/energy matter too if you don't have ringworld nearby).
3) Any planet with research-boosting planetary feature (as it would stay and stack with ecumenopolis bonus).
p.s. NEVER try to converse planet with subterrarian civs (everyone killing them, right?).
Good to know though that research remains, my +30% bonus from Mirrors Edge quest(giant sphere at black hole) will be perfect.
Planetary FEATURES will be removed. Planetary MODIFIERS (like unstable tectonics) will stay.
A) Larger sized planets. Because they can build more districts, you get much more bang for your buck if you make one of these into an Ecumenopolis.
B) Planets with few districts by default. Planets that just don't have that much value because there are so few districts to work with.
Its kind of rare to find both, but either one is a good candidate.
