Life-Seeded Start and Baol
I had a game where I wanted to actually play a life-seeded empire without getting any other species and try to make do with poor habitability for a core of my pops + bots for basic ressource extraction and try to get to habitats soon.
First time I tried it I got the Baol as precursors (basically making the problem void since their artefact can just turn Worlds into Gaia-Worlds), so I restarted... SEVEN times till I got a game with a precursor race that was NOT the Baol.

Now I am pretty aware that it can be just a weird fluke, but I am curious, did other ppl have the Baol weirdly often when starting with the Life-Seeded Origin?

haven't tried life-seeded recently. did try voidborn since 2.7 and got baol, suddenly i had a bunch of planets i could spread to every ten years

ive never tested this but it seems life seeded origin has scripted that you always get the Baol. But why would you not want to ? It is very specific to your desires. And it makes sense you get the Baol.
Anyway if it scripted than i suggest you get "known precursors" mod so you can "select" anything other than that.

Its obviously not scripted that you get them ALWAYS since in restart 8 I got somebody else, thats why I am asking for if other people had them often too when playing life-seeded. Since 8 games isnt a statistical meaningfull number so it could still be just RNG

As to why I didn't want them: as I said I actually WANTED that problem to deal with, it was more of an immersive game, so getting handed an artefact that makes it go away was exactly what I didnt want.

Ok so it is not scripted but apperantly life seeded origin has a weight modifier to baol precursor. 8 games in a row is still significant. Anyway if you got what you wished it's ok then.

Perhaps check the file ancient_relics_events_2 .txt?

Under "Baol Intro", there are no conditions except not having any of the other precursor intros active. Same like all other precursors.

I got those giant people when I did a life-seeded start. That said, I did also use normal amounts of planets and I somehow ended up with 15+ planets inside a 4 jump radius (most of them Tomb worlds). Considering I had a Hivemind and +25% habitability I ultimately ended up with some 25 planets...lol.

(and huge upkeep in food, haha)

It just seems to be RNG. I think ive done 5 games now and gotten Cybrex 2 times. Twice I got useless ones that only offered a resource system, and once I got the League. (tho I didnt find their world in that game...not enough clues)

It doesn't seem likely to even b e possible to script. Precursor discoveries are placed on specific planets and are fixed once the game starts. I guess the game could make them more likely to be planets near you, but that still wouldn't guarantee you'd get that one.

@op you don't actually need to restart for a different precursor. Just make a note of which planet gave you the discovery, go back to your previous autosave and don't survey that planet until after you've already got a precursor. I've found that precursor discovery spots are usually clumped together for the same precursors, so there will probably be a few planets you'll discover with that precursor nearby before you find a planet with a different precursor, but sooner or later you will find a different one.

thx but given how early in the game I get them, its not really much trouble to just start over and usually I am not really picky, wich is ofc why it makes double sense that I got that weird RNG the ONE time I had a specific precursor I really didnt want.^^

there's 3-4 systems that are an event with something like 6-8 tomb worlds in them. can't remember the exact numbers

Did you reload the same game? Because the precursors spawn in specific locations of the map

na clear new start every time with a new galaxy, likely just a sign how much RNG loves me

didn't they change them to randomized instead of fixed locations a while ago?
