Whats your favourite design for every ship class and why?
Im still new to this game so can you give me some advice about designs that are good enough in every stuation or your favourite ones? Here are some of my recent models I have been using.

Corverts - 3 small slots and 1 small slot and missle for them. People seems to go for autocannons but i have no idea why, their stats dont seems that great to me, I think plasma is better.

Destroyers - Honestly, I dont build them. I simply build only corvets until cruisers.

Cruisers - Either full medium slots for firepower to deal with anything or making them mini carriers for support.

Battleships - I have no idea how to build them. Carrier with 3 hangars, large weapons with only proton launcher missles, or mixed??? So far they were only effective vs starbases by sniping them from huge distants before corvets even arrived, but during fight with other ships they failed, even with bigger fleet power and support from corvets.

Defence platforms/starbases - I went with hangars (lv 3 starcraft). But they seems to barely damage enemy fleet with similar power as my starbase had.

For me, I take the Corvette with an autocannon and missile, even after battleships are availible I usually have a couple fleets of 200+ corvettes around instead. Note autocannons shread shields, and have bonus damage against hull, where the missiles tear through the armour.

Destroyers, like you I don't often bother with them,

Cruisers, tend to get railguns and carrier parts,

Battleships, mine are almost always carriers with railguns/artellery/(other shield smashing kenetics), if I bother with them.

Starbases are again full of hangers, but without mods starbases are largely a waste of time for defensive purposes. They can stall a hostile, or support a fleet, but on their own they are helpless. (remember a lot of their "fleet power" comes from their huge HP pool)

Note: using a lot of mods. A lot.

I have a decent mix of Corvettes usually until I get cruisers, then it's mostly missile and torp spam with them with a sprinkling of PD Corvettes to keep them from dying so much to the outposts and the like.

I end up speccing most of my cruisers to missile types after getting battleships (have an advanced ship sections mod that gives them more missile slots).

Battleships are usually a mix of carriers and artillery ships, depending on the fleet I tend to throw in some broadside-specced ones to act as meat shield as well.

Starbases I tend to not rely on overmuch until I get (via mod) Heavy Defense Platforms, at which point my borders become STRONK and I can use my fleets properly.

Corvettes: Missles and Disruptors (if available). Plasma instead of Disruptors when up against unshielded enemies.

Battleships either Artillery with Neutron Launchers etc, or piercing with Cloud/Arc Emitter.

Defensive slots depends on the situation, but I prefer Crystal Hulls if I have access to them (especially early game, where its far superior to armor/shields)
