Sol starting location
When I play a human empire, I am always a stickler for having Earth in the correct starting position. In the Orion arm, directly south of the galactic center, about halfway between center and the southern edge. https://astronomy.com/sitefiles/resources/image.aspx?item={D6DCA2B5-584C-4276-A1C0-2D6486FF45E8}

This usually has me re-starting several times to re-roll my spawn location. Is there a mod that places the Sol System in the correct location?

...Why not just check the workshop and find out?

I tried that and over 70 pages totaling over 2,000 mods pop up. I was just wondering if anyone knew of one before I went through a couple thousand mods.

Why not just move on if you have nothing useful to contribute?

I found a Milky Way Galaxy map, don't know if it has sol where you want it but maybe worth a try?

I use a mod that darkens the core and puts systems there instead. I feel the galaxy is just too small to be considered a galaxy. So instead i pretend were in a sector of space.

if you want to role play it just think of it as humans in our time are wrong. like how at one point we thought the sun revolved around us, we found out that our place in the universe was mis calculated as well

Ahem. So all you need is to spawn at middle ring of galaxy?

Do you realize that we lack any reference point? So ANYTIMES your Sol is ~ in middle ring then it's in correct place. Stellaris don't include any other galaxies to pinpoint exact orientation of map.

No need to go crazy ;)

This would be a beautiful point if Stellaris galaxies actually rotated. Unfortunately they don't, and this doesn't help the sticklers of us in the community.

What? Galaxies take millions or billions of years to rotate once.

I don't have years in either of those amounts to scratch this itch. There's no version of Stellaris where I will commit to a human save if Sol isn't as close to exactly there as possible.

Sad.

In any case, I think you simply misunderstood corisai's point (that he made 1.5 years ago btw). Without an external reference point, the orientation of the galaxy is completely irrelevant when it comes to accuracy.

You really aren't helping the quite sizable community of us that feel this way. Reference points, orientation or whatever be damned, we cannot start that save unless it's exactly there.
To be honest, if you play humans, you would be the very first person I've spoken to that doesn't feel this way.

That sounds like an extremely small portion of the community.

There are two other people in the thread who clearly don't feel that way, and I don't feel that way.... Did you not play any older 4X space games? The Master of Orion and Galactic Civilizations series don't even try to have a 'realistic' 2D galaxy shape, yet alone position of the sun ('sol' is just latin for 'the sun').

The very first person? Ha, you most not know of the quite sizable+1 community of individuals that I am the leader of. We call us the noRealSol-Federation, and we have made it our goal to ensure that your community never gets what they want.

Through lobbying and manipulation of the public discourse, we strife to always have any sol starting location tilted by a few degrees, and because we are always one person more than your community, our voices will always be the loudest.

You will never get what you wish, do you hear me? NEVER! Wuahaha. Hahaha. HAHAHA!
