Bio reactors ...worth it ?
simple question really they seem to turn 25 food into 20 power is that worth it to make farms in machine empires ?

I believe someone did the math on the official forum and you get a better food to energy conversion from selling food on the market.

ouch so quite not worth it then

that being the case is it worth building farms to sell the food on the market ?

If you can build energy-producing districts instead then the answer is no. Turning food into energy (via reactors or the market) is terribly inefficient.

Really? I highly doubt you can reliably get over 0.8EC per food on market... maybe, on low difficuilties? Still, growing food only to convert it to energy sounds like a stupid idea: machine worlds are there for a reason.

I think it's meant to be an option if you happen to get organic pops, or if you're an assimilator or rogue servitor.

Can machine empires have organic pops use jobs now? Besides the mandatory pampering job for rogue servitor or as energy credit producing slaves?

It was viable before last update. Previously machines would generate 12 food per agricultural district and only 8 energy, so with 2 food districts and a slight production boost you'd get the 25 food and then make 20 energy off it with 4 workers used meanwhile energy production districts would only produce 16. Now that machines only produce 10 food per agri district and 12 per energy there's no point in it to exist.

Is there a Purge option for Driven Exterminators that turns organic Pops into Food? That would make this useful! I'm picturing something from the Matrix

Then it needs to be changed. There needs to be a reason to build a bio-reactor rather than just sell it all. The market should be what you resort to when you have negative or no income on said resource.

They skip the food part and turn them directly into energy.

It's especially bad in the new beta update.. which boosted energy to 6 instead of 4 for machine empires.. and food from 6 to 5.

So generally not something to be exploited less you have no better alternatives.

They swapped the output for technicians and farmers.

Before 6 from farm and 4 from technician job for machine empires, therefore the bio reactors where running a minor plus, though it rather was a last resort in case you don't have enough generator districts.

Now it's the other way round, 6 energy and 5 food per job for machines and the generator is utterly useless
