Feudal Empire benefits?
Want to try something new, never really played Feudal and i dont really do anything with vassals, I usually just genocide and create a galaxy wide ethnostate.

Any civics or Ethics that go well with Feudal? Im thinking of going spiritualist and authoritarian or Militarist but idk how that'd go for a feudal playthrough.

Spiritualist, Militarist, Xenophile works well. Imperial authority.

I'd do something like this.
Fanatic Autheritarian + Imperial + Feudal Society + Slaver Guilds cause u are a Feudal Empire.
Traditional + Conformists + Natural Sociologists cause you are traditional and you are good in controlling thoughts of population.
I should mention that Spiritualists are excellent at this cause you will end up with Chose One as immortal ruler.

When my mod is done you’ll be able to play as the “good” version of a Feudal Empire.

Just remember that the whole point of playing feudal is to have several vassals that contribute to your income and miliatary. Because of this, militarist tends to work best, but any combination of ethos will work, (except maybe pascifist). The idea, is to first start up building your "core", then, after you've established yourself, start making vassals from there on out. Some people do single planet vassals, others do multi-system, but the important thing to remember is to never let any one of them get too powerful.

I'm curious. What's your idea of a "good" fuedal empire?

Federalist civic is the opposite of the (renamed) Feudalism civic. It increases subject opinion and acceptence to to peaceful subjugation, while Feudalism (which is different the Imperialist) has general more independent subjects with a lower opinion from subjects than Federalist. You must have the new Republican authority to take Federalist, so the government you end up with a “Federal Republic”. Imperialist focuses in actually acquiring subjects and keeping control of them, rather than Feudalism or Federalist.

Do note that Federalist is an ideology civic with it’s true opposite being Mercantilist (exploiting subjects) while Feudalism is a government civic.

Imperialist is a part of the Isolationist-Interventionist-Imperialist triangle.

seems trash to me, vassal AI empires dont get the usual difficulty bonus resources so they are a waste of time,i currently got one of them with 6 planets and large amount of systems only able to field 500 fleet.. where as if that was a normal ai it would be having around 5-6k worth of fleets by now..

Well some people enjoy playing for RP rather than if a build is “viable” or not.

I dont care if its viable, when i tried a feudal empire i just wanted to have some fun and see the vassal states grow/flourish on their own but instead they turned stagnant and werent able to acomplish anything..

I just gifted resources.

I did too, and at the start it expanded reasonably well/ aquired a few planets systems to be self sustainable then by mid game it still only had 500 fleet, stopped ship production and turned stagnant, regardless of my gifts.. maybe the AI broke or something i dont know..

There is a mod where vassals get the normal AI bonuses.

Install some AI mods to compensate for it's stupidity. There're several good and popular AI mods in steam workshop.

Wasn't that "feature" vanilla? I thought i read something in the Wiki, stating, that Vassals don't get the Boni
