Multiplayer compatibility
Hey y'all,
Does anyone know if a person without steam (but with Stellaris) can join a steam-platform multiplayer game?
I feel like it could be through LAN, but I don't know.

No, you must be on steam to use multiplayer. Why dont you want to use steam? Also, for anyone else coming here to read this. This person has Stellaris with almost 300hrs played so dont accuse him of being a pirate.

He bought directly from Paradox.

I'm asking cause Stellaris is on sale on Paradox's actual site, and I wanted to get it for a friend who doesn't own Stellaris. BUT, since it isn't compatible, I'll wait till the 19th. Thank you!

PDX sends you a Steam key. The direct download is also available.

Yea, I linked my steam-bought Stellaris with the PDX website.

Well even if you buy outside of steam, you still get a steam key and can use steam to play.

You can't get Stellaris without Steam. No matter where you buy it, you get a Steam key.
