Planet Killer Weapons
After testing them all I can say that they are all kind of meh exept one. (Great for Role Playing Games though)

Both Planet Cracker and Global Pacifier waste the planets resources by effectively destroying the planet. Cracking planets gives a random amount of mineable minerals while pacifier grants + 10 society research.

Neutron Sweeper is probably my favourite out of all of them. It purges away all pops and leaves the planet with a -30 habitability debuff for + 3000 months. -30 habitability is non existant debuff in late game where you get access to Colossi anyway. You also avoid high diplomacy penalties from purging. All other empires still get -100 for Neutron Bombing a planet, but it's way less than -1000 for genocidal

The god ray was pretty much pointless.

What do you people think of Planet Killers?

I really like the one that driven assimilators get. When you use it on a planet, all pops instantly become perfectly loyal cyborgs under your control. It is a lot easier than having to deal with revolts for a decade before you can finish assimilating them all.

I think the only useful thing in Apocalypse is unity ambitions. I'd buy it on a sale if I knew that.

Utopia had more content for it's worth. I really like Titans and Planet killers, but they really aren't that big of a deal. But yeah unity ambitions are great.

I mean colossi turned out to be something usable only to roleplayers in my opinion.

I would like to build more than one or atleast make them a bit faster. Oh well time to look up some mods.

i was trying to decide which one i'd go for in my current game. genocidal isn't an issue, i've already eaten nine other empires(well ok, six, three are digesting)

Well, you lose your snacks with all of them I think.

i know, that's why i'm having trouble deciding. might just take the planet cracker and get rid of planets that i haven't gotten to colonizing yet

There is a mod that allows you to use all the Colossi weapons on your own planets. And a mod that makes your loyal vassals not care about you cracking an enemy world.

The second should really be in the base game.
