Federation...Federations everywhere *Buzz lightyear meme*
Sooo, just out of curiosity...*cough* anyone else having NPC's go federation madness? Like "federation formed" and then within 50years , 70-90% of the map is one colour (as in federation members)? The frst time I was like "ok, meh" ...but so far , it happens realy often. What I mean is, I think it kinda takes alot of potential conflict away when almost everyone is in the same federation and that sometimes as "early" as 2270-2300.

Wich begs to question, is there a kind of event that could occur to have federations dissovle or split? If not wouldn't that be a nice Idea, as bigger the Fed. becomes a event trigger grows that can lead to a split event akin to the Kharnate split.
So for example: A Fed. with 10 member states triggers such an event , and the federation splits in three, one holds 4 members and the other two holds 3 each.

P.S. just asking and suggesting, take it easy

I agree with you, but at the moment the AI of the game is its biggest flaw (it has many).
Its such in a bad state it can barely accomplish the basic tasks.

So there is nothing I could actually call diplomacy atm, just linear, predictable reactions.

But you can expect the next DLC to be diplomacy oriented, they stated they want to make it.

Check if you have your own races spawning in if you're often/always playing federation/diplomatic type races.
That can really ear-mark a lot of slots for the AI with empires that are almost guaranteed to ally up.

Other than that you can make a couple of well-optimized (try good general things such as resource buffs) loner empires and enable force spawning them so you have like 5 empires that are always going to be purifiers, inwards perfection, swarms or assimilators for example.

They actually might do trade next, but yeah it’s either trade or diplomacy. Personally I want diplomacy/deeper federations to be next, and then trade.

Yep and waring with a fed is pointless as tehy wont surr as you need to win vs all 3 (at least that waht it feels like) i even blew up one of there homerworlds nothing i got a +2 on the surr score they war exe has been 100% for years mine still at 30% ish really think federation needs to be moved to a accendacy perk

A lot of it also depends on what is going on in the galaxy. If there is a large and growing threat (like you if you decide to go on the warpath for a while), then they also may get "mutual threat" modifiers that makes it more likely for them to band together.

But yeah, hopefully diplomacy and deeper federations are the focus of the next dlc... it is the game's weakest element by far right now, as federations offer little in the way of interesting gameplay.

What I want especially is a way to crack federations apart. Once they build one giant fed-blob its pretty annoying to conquer them with the 10 years waiting time every time.

The only time I see 1 large fed is when I do things like this
