Unreachable stars???
Playing my first game in 2.1 and there are some stars where there are no connecting hyperlanes and no way to get them. I've tried the Experimental Subspace Navigation but it keeps saying I can't get there without first surveying the system. Is this a bug or am I just missing something obvious? I'm sure it's the latter but you never know... thought I'd ask.

They are part of a different ‘constellation’ of hyper lanes you haven’t discovered yet. So you see the stars but not the connecting hyperlanes until you explore more

Thanks! Seems weird because I or somebody else has survey everything else around it.

Maybe it’s the L-Cluster from the new DLC

I thought that was "outside" the galaxy. [shrug]

it is, it's past the borders of your galaxy, literally unreachable in any way, but it is visible too. You just can't reach it without using the L-Gate

I had the problem also but then it turned out my science ships would not go there because there was a hostile fleet blocking the hyperlane. It drove me nuts at first until I realized what was going on

There's a random event that can trigger where a star is only reachable using a nearby wormhole, it's a good system guarded by a powerful leviathan.

Some systems are isolated and do not have hyperlanes to them, the one I found had a natural wormhole leading to it (even though I turned off wormholes). It isn't a leviathan guarding the system, just a corrupted shroud avatar so don't expect the curators to tell you about it. The L cluster is different in that you will not see it on your map until you have opened the L gates.
