ive never heard of anything like this happening so its probable that there isnt anything like it. as for what exactly does happen, I dont really play imperial authority much so I have no idea
For the moment, all leaders / rulers are just a name with buff
They die, you just hire another guy
They lose an election after 100+ years of ruling, go back to normal work np
A democracy can elect the same guy again and again for decades
...
Very barebone
But there is a lot of possibilities for future DLCs with more interesting internal politics and conflicts, factions, sectors, all leaders in general and even pops
More diplo, both external and internal
I like Stellaris for some reasons i cant really explain, but for the moment, it is a very simplistic game (compared to EU4...)
It has improved, so, this is a good sign
A lot of rooms to expand and...a shower of DLCs to come...ahah
