Crisis Prethoryn Scourge came much faster than expected
After reading this article[stellaris.paradoxwikis.com] on the Stellaris wiki I expected to have at least 60 years to prepare my fleet but within a decade after the notice about subspace echoes half of the (tiny) galaxy was already taken, the Prethoryn Scourge was almost immediatly there with well over 1M fleet power.
Also the better part of my resources weren't available anymore making it impossible to rebuid a fleet that has any chance of defeating it...
Challenging is good but impossible isn't fun at all!
What are the possible reasons for this crisis to happen sooooooo much faster (and stronger) than described in the Stellaris wiki?

The Wiki says the next stage of the crisis has a MTTH of 600 months. Like many others, you made the mistake of thinking "Oh, that means I have 600 months, I'm fine". That, is wrong. "MTTH" means "Mean Time To Happen", in other words, it's an average. On average, it takes 600 months for it to happen; that doesn't mean it can't happen after 10 months, nor that it can't take 1500 months.

Just keep that in mind next time you read a MTTH. You'll see those often with Paradox games, and it's an easy mistake to make but really that's not necessarily always the time it'll take for an event, it's just the most likely. Hope that helps clear the confusion. :thumb:

Crisis comes at 2400, that is plenty of time to get a 1M+ fleet

there is a setting on galaxy creation for crisis strength, between .25x normal strength and 5x. did you happen to change this at all? 1m fleet power sounds way to high for the default setting on a tiny galaxy

I would love to see anyone that can even possess a 1M fleet playing on vanilla. Yes you can go over fleet cap but I currently have about 350K worth of fleet power and thats with me owning close to 1/2 the galaxy.

Was it a million sized fleet or several fleets combined to a million?

Was it a million sized fleet or several fleets combined to a million?
Several fleets of around 105k and some of around 50k, seemingly everywhere, didn't actually count them but there were a lot. I had a fleet of 109k when they spawned and was able to take out the 50k fleets leaving me with a 90k fleet that was able to take out 2 of the 105k separately thanks to the weapon choice and the defender of the galaxy tradition, I retreated when fighting a third 105k fleet which left me with a 35k fleet.
I thought would still be able to fight em off one by one retreating every time a second 105k fleet joined a fight then I realized I lost my dyson sphere turning my energy balance to something around -250/month and my minerals where also down from over +600/ month to +26/month.
Luckily the reason my economy had thanked was also due to the fact that apparently (I guess because of losing my capital world) my sectors where unset so I quickly paused and set up a couple of sectors to match my core sector's limit and my economy was in a better place again but I barely managed to get my fleet back to around 80k before the system it was in got attacked.
I managed to defend against the first 105k but 2 more 105k banned together and I was left with only 4 battleships when I could retreat and my mineral reserves were used up making it impossible to quickly rebuild my fleet having lost more than half of my income... This is when I decided that I don't need to control the entire galaxy having already won by domination.

I did indeed set it to 1x instead of the default 0.5x for tiny galaxies, the only other game I had a crisis happen in I didn't even get to deal with it myself, the unbidden spawned inside an awakened empire I was at war with, actually making the game easier :p
I think I might still have been able to fend them off if it hadn't happened so fast though.
