How do story packs work?

Hi,

Let's say I've started the game with vanilla Stellaris. Then I buy for instance the Utopia or the Leviathans DLC. Will the leviathans or megastructures or story arcs from these DLCs appear in my current game, or will I have to start a new one? And can one use more than one DLC at once?

You can use all the DLC together at once. Regarding current game, some things are generated at the beginning of a game and won't be there if you add the DLC mid-way through. For instance I don't think the L-Sector will work correctly since its contents are determined at game start.

You'll be able to build megas and ascend, but the leviathans won't spawn in an on going game.
