Multi-Race starts
I think that there should be an option of having your empire start with two or three races like;
The Zal Imperium;
Main Race (67%) Zal
Alt Race (23%) Dencoren
Alt Race II (10%) Corigon

It would be interesting to manage two differenty races with different traits and interests.

Think one of the civics lets you start with a second race, though that one is subservent.

There are several Civic mods that allow starts similar to that.

From the RP perspective why? You start as a fledgling empire with a single home world. Where would the other species come from? Which would be the main and are the others conquered?

It's not unheard of in sci-fi to have multiple sentient species come up on the same planet. I think it would be a nice addition, personally. There would probably need to be some kind of drawback though, or else it would be an incredibly broken mechanic. Maybe it restricts your governing ethics options, or lowers the breeding rate of all species for each extra one.

It may be just two races like, Qurren and Mon Calimari, two races, same homeworld

You that you could probally modify the trait that exists now but it would just be main race + a different race. Coding wise with the present empire creation it would be a pain in the butt to have two customized races starting but easily enough to clone the trait a few times.

i like the idea

just take the syncretic evolution civic. you design two races to start with. just change laws regarding the 2nd race's rights before unpausing if you don't want them to be subservient

They have the same traits though.

when editing the empire under the species section there should be a section for the sub-species

Yeah upon selection of a civil that allows for an extra race more options pop under your initial races choices.

If you're following the "next" button you'll have to go back some because government civics are near the bottom.

Syncretic evolution allows you to make a second race that is 10% happier, 10% better at farming and mining but -25% worse at research and energy. By default but you can apply more traits like slow learners and fleeting (since they usually wont be leaders) and give them industrious, strong etc

A fair warning though is that growth is cut in half on planets with those growing populations. In the end it doesnt seem like that big a deal but if it takes say 3 years for someone to grow a pop and 6 years for you to get 2 at once, you're missing out on 3 years of bonus production. Early game that could mean like 250+ minerals/energy or like almost 100 unity etc
