King Meinolf and prince Ludin alive or dead (Spoilers!)

Spoilers!
When arriving at the capitol you will meet the king. He says during my game that he is upset because his son prince Ludin is dead, but he is not dead. I have played banner saga 1 and used that savegame for banner saga 2 and Ludin was still alive and also made it through to the capitol. But now the king is very upset saying his son is dead...whats up with that?
I can use Ludin in battles, i use him allmost everytime because i think he is quite good.
Any help or suggestion what to do? I am afraid it affects my game a bit because the king doesnt like Hakon now and doesnt want the Varl into the capitol....
I play with Alette in case that matters.

It's a known bug that causes some Saga1 heroes to be considered dead in Saga2, inconsistently. Stoic are working on a hotfix for this.

Well at least that is good. Now here is hoping I don't have to play it all over :P.

I don't think so. This hotfix will most likely edit your save-files (on loading them) to correct the problem.
