How do the decisions from the first game carry over?

Does anyone know if this is done via save file? I'd like to play the first game on console but I'm not sure if the second game will be launched for PS4 as well. And if the way it carries over choices is via save files, then I'd rather play it on PC. Anyone know how it works?

It's via the save file - you'll have the option to import a saved game. We're planning on Banner Saga 2 being on all the same platforms that The Banner Saga released on. (Exception = Linux which continues to problemtic - we'll have to see on that one).

Choices you've made will carry over and have impacts, as will the characters, items, and resources you have in your caravan.

If in BS 1, my game is not finish but just at the final boss, does my choices will be loaded in BS 2 or I have to beat the first game ( final boss so hardd)

I think you'll have to beat that boss (did you lower the difficulty to Easy?) in order to import to TBS2, as your last "Resume" save-game is generated after that fight in the end of TBS1, before the endgame sequence. Stoic will have to clarify this point though.

My savefile got lost somewhere between switching computers so I'll need to complete the first game again at some point.

Actually I'll need to complete the game twice and backup each of the endgame saves, so I can try playing the second game with each... seperate protagonist, with all my own choices and focused leveling.

Checked your cloud-saves? Or did you play before the patch that enabled this feature?

Check you cloud save or steam save :) Could be in there somewhere!

Yeah it was before Cloud-saves were added for Banner Saga so its gone for good.

Its a bit of a hassle but at least this way I can try and optimise the two playthroughs as much as possible I guess.

So is progress cross-platform?
