Cop out? Daugh do you even End of Evangelion? Go listen to the lyrics of Kom Susser todd to see what I mean.
I highly doubt Banner Saga is going deus ex machina away all the decisions you made at the end. But who knows.
>Calling me retarded for not grasping the concept of similar themes.
You guys are block heads, condemning the revival of characters while a revived character has been walking among you all this time since Banner saga 1.
A character coming back from Valhalla it's not a Deux ex machina nor would make all of your decisions useless that's just you being a blockhead without imagination again. If you just went throught hell to stop the world from being destroyed because of some guy made a mistake, them returning to you that which you lost and was most precious to you seems like a fine reward.
Professor Tolkien did it and if you say tolkien it's a cheap author then seriously you are an illiterate mongrel.
For this to happen the characters must have suffered and experienced ultimate pain and loss and have been pushed to the brink of oblivion.
I did not want to talk about it because developers can be like Jar Jar abrahams "who is a hack" and change things just because people figured it out or something.
And no, you implied that it would be similar to the End of Evangelion which is far beyond bringing one person back from Valhalla. In fact you can't equate Human Instrumentality with the afterlife. It doesn't work. Thats not how Eva worked and it not how this story will work. People suffer. And you don't get some sort of cartharsis ot wish because you have suffered enough. Thats not how life works. Hell thats not how religiopn works. And it isn't how any story beyond a child level works. It is a cop out. A release from responsibility.
But what do I know, to you I am a "blockhead" because I follow basic logic. Bringing people back from the dead is literally one of the cornerstones of deus ex machina. And jumping the shark for that matter. It is very much a contrived sequence of events that usually takes place when something like that happens.
Because one author can kind of sort of did it with almost godlike beings like Professot Tolkien did does not mean you can allow every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid story to bring back its characters and not be dumped on because of it. Listen you are trying your best to sound intelligent but you are merely giving false parrallels and logical fallacies to back yourself up. Just stop. Because guess what? You are far from the only suppossed learned person on in this place and your high and mighty attitude can and will be called out on.
Your implications that you "figured it out" and that if it doesn't happen means the devs changed it because of that is laughably arrogant. Seriously... Have you no sense of humility? Lets just assume you are right and you guessed the ending then I will happily take my freshly disappointed ass down to all three game review sections and give every one of these a neagtive review because theu would be tripping harder than they did with ME3 at the end. They should very much know how a bad ending can and does color the perceptions of a series. They should know more than most I would think. They would lose credibility too because it shows that they wrote this main character dying thing in to affect you emotionally and then cancels the signififcance of your choice by nullifying it. No one. NO ONE, likes to be manipulated like that. Not a damn person likes that.
I green text to emphasize your block head remarks, this is not about being edgy. If you call me edgy then was Professor tolkien edgy as well?
You are cherry picking here, I am using End of Evangelion as an example of the world ending "in this case nearly ending" to see a most precious one back in one piece and alive and breathing. If you read the rest of my post you would have noticed that I specifically pointed this.
Again READ THE POST BEFORE REPLYING instead of CHERRYPICKING!
So gandalf returning from death was deux ex machina? And Beren and Luthien? Prince Lear? Sleeping Beauty? Snowhite? Or a bunch of other fairy tales? See what I mean? You have a narrowmind, you do NOT USE LOGIC on a storymaking level. You have no imagination and lack knowledge on the subject.
Since it would be at the end it is impossible to jump the shark because the story basically ends or would end there.
It's not a cop out, it's the congratulations for going throught hell.
He gave away what was most important to him to save the world whilst others gave the world to save what was most precious to them. See the difference here?
Implying only because someone did it before,no one else is allowed to do so.
Implying it has nothing to do with actual storytelling and ideas, story making and narrative as opposed to a rule that YOU ARE IMPOSING RIGHT NOW because you are used to consume trash media.
You are acting all edgy right now, It's not about me acting smart or not. I am backing up my ♥♥♥♥ with actual stuff and forming something logical from that standpoint.
Now I dont know where or why you are bringing all this "supposed learned person" but I am going to take this as personal attacks since you have been pointing your finger towards me for some time.
If you are an illiterate sucker with blockhead and authist syndrome, ITS NOT MY PROBLEM.
If you dont like people knowing more than you in this subject, IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM.
All this does is making you look like a manchild jackass.
If someone is acting all mighty and edgy, that is you and the pathetic thing is that you do not even realize it and just reek of insecurity.
For starters this is not about lack of humility but of observation, this is an actual fact. Authors these days change stuff when people figure stuff out. And no it's not because I figured it out but because it is something that usually happens in fantasy tale epics and thus IT IS a possibility.
We have a woman that came back from the death walking among you in the game and because what was said during the end of Banner Saga 1. Maybe some people already thought about it? who knows, but your intolerance to this it's absolute and imposing.
And now you are making rage because of the possibility that Alette or Rook could be brought back from the Valhalla like in one of the countless classics that have used it?
All because you dont like it... in an rpg... WHERE YOU can choose to wathever you see fit.
See how you blah blah with childish attitudes like if you where the center of the world?
Blockhead.
... well played ;)
