Console Commands?

Does the Banner Saga 2 have a developer console we can access? If so, is there a list of commands

Yes, just put in the steam launch options "developer" without the "" marks.

You see it working from a small red + sign from top right corner, clicking it opens the menu to open console, "K" -kill all enemies, quicksave and >> speedup etc.

The rest of the attributes you can control by fiddling with save files which you can find in the %APPDATA% folder.

The best command in command line is definetly saga item_all

Awesome thanks for the doc. Just wondering how do I fiddle with the saves? They are a .json file and I'm not sure how to open them.

You need notepad++ to open them, its free and possibly the best text editor out there at the moment. Can edit about anything that isnt nailed down and welded to the cavern floor.

You can actually just use a normal Notepad. It's a tad more difficult to navigate, but there's no reason to not install Notepad++ since save editing like this works in many games.

the set renown command doesn't work.... every time I try to use it, it resets my renown to 0. Any idea why??

What command are you using? It might be a bit more complicated as Renown is tracked by multiple variables (per-caravan, global etc).

I edit my renown by going into the save file. The path on my PC is \\Computer\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\TheBannerSaga2\Local Store\save\saga2\2

as mentioned above you use NotePad or Wordpad to open the .json files.

You will find a line in the file where it displays your caravan renown, note there are 2 caravans in the save file. One for Team Rook, one for Team Bolverk.

Also in case it wasn't obvious you have to close the game when you edit the save file.
