The Banner Saga 2
Keep your wits Achievement
Well quite honestly I would simply like to know how this works. I mean the description is kind of pointless "Bolverk always behaves like the Ravens expect" How exactly do they expect him to behave? Which choices are the ones I would need to make as Bolverk? I mean... at least give me something to go on here... is he outright cruel? Like kill everything and everyone? Is he sort of an ass, doesn't care for people, always looks for personal gain but is not out to murder everyone? Can he take or make a joke? How much does he trust Folka? I mean seriously... no offense Stoic, I love the game... but at least give me a bit to go on here.

"Keep your wits" I got this achivement by being sensible with Bolverk. I just chose the most diplomatic and ethically right options and then at that Human bridge before the capital, I got it after a talk with Valka where she wanted to leave this expedition.
Basically I think its just 'kill the stonesinger'. Because I didn't do that in my second run and got it...and I did a few things others didn't like much. Mostly its: kill people, loot those people, and see whats best for The Ravens first.

Saving a dredge is a clear sign of 'somethings up with Bolverk'
Alright... I'll give that a shot. I have actually been sensible with him in my first playthrough and it didn't work. So am on my second one, I even tried escaping into the mountains... let's see if that did anything.

No, don't escape. Just choose all the diplomatic options which invloves helping people and don't get angry or hit anyone other than Dredge.
As for kilingl the Stonesinger, I got the achievement just before that final battle in the bridge so killing or sparing him has nothing to do with the achievement.

It has to have because I already have a playthrough in which I acted sensible with him, kept the stonesinger around, let him sing etc. Like I said I doubt this is how he behaves.
Yes, something fishy with this achievement.
This is such an awkward achievement. In my playthrough, I tried to get it by being pretty aggressive with Bolverk and killing everything (except the stoneslinger). I don't want to do a second run until I figure out how to get it lol
I got the achievement with the stonesinger taggin' along. I acted as tough mercenary when I could, offered people to join me when I could (Except for that one bandit group) and I was honest about the visions. Not really sure what you have to do in order to not get the achievement.
I do agree that it's rather hard to know exactly what the devs had in mind when they made that achievement. I would say that it's either a bit wonky with the flags or it's poorly worded/explained/hinted.

Well I didn't get it the first time through and I can't figure out why...

And that seems to be the issue. No one really knows how Bolverk is supposed to behave. I was nice to Nikels, confided in Folka, threw that one Raven into the mud hole, let people try to slow down the Dredge with backup, I was open towards the stonesinger helping... But, I have no idea which of these constitute proper behaviour.
Seems like we'll have to wait for a more complete guide before it becomes clear what exactly they had in mind.

I have a feeling this achievement is bugged, although it can't be known without some insight from the devs. I accepted the stone singer into my party and was certain that I was forfeiting the achievemnt - several people in the caravan (including Falka) said things like "you've changed Bolverk!" However, I still got the achievement. Perhaps Stoic could address this in some way.

That would be good because when I accepted him in this achievement didn't unlock. However... I have the slight feeling that we might make more of it than it is... it might actually have something to do with the last conversation you have with Folka before you head off... not sure but maybe.
Took a very brief look at the game's scripting files, and I'm not sure the whether stonesinger decision is related to this achievement at all. I did find a random event in Bolverk's first chapter that seems linked to it, and I imagine there are others, but I don't have time to thoroughly examine all these files.

Which one?
I found flags for this achievement in these two files:

\Steam\steamapps\common\tbs2\assets\saga2\convo\part13\cnv_13_pop_oldford_dec1.json.z \Steam\steamapps\common\tbs2\assets\saga2\convo\part13\cnv_13_pop_oldford_dec3.json.z

The first one seems to be about forbiding Sparr to handle a Dredge wave (but sending some fighters to deal with them instead) while the second one is about allowing Krumr to deal with another Dredge wave.

It's not really clear though and maybe there's mentions in other files too. With them being compressed and having to open & search in them one-by-one is a chore =/
