The Banner Saga 2
Is the last fight unbeatable?
Because I get my ass handed to me Iver.

If you've buffed up Bolvy too much (compared to Iver), it can be unbeatable, yes. It's by no means a game-over, just a different starting condition in Saga3 :)

If Bolvy & Iver are approximately of the same Rank (and both have decent items), you can surely win it. Zefr's Rank (5 or 6+) also affects the outcome.

Woah I didn't even think about bolverk losing. If he wins then he just wakes up after the tower collapses and ressurrects Bellower. What happens if Bolverk loses?

I just beat him, he wakes up after the tower collapse to the snake staring at him and snake blood dripping on his face, no sight of bellower.

My bolvy is lvl 10 and poor iver is lvl 3 or 5....
I just kept running and finally bolvy is stroke down by lightning

I wish I could find some pattern to the lightning strikes. I even lead Bolvy into some of the traps, and Rammed him into others, but that didn't do anything and he eventually gutted poor lvl 3 Iver like a sad fish.

I guess it would be nice if the lightning strikes would stun him for one turn, but on the other hand that might be too cheesy so who knows

For me he kept regaining hp so thats a bug?

I could've sworn Juno said the lighting strikes would free Bolverk's mind. Thats why instead of clobbering him to death, i lead him to lightning.

Wait Zefr's rank affects it? That's crazy, I never thought that would be a thing.

They do, if you kite him through them. Which is quite easy if Zefr is level 6+, because then Iver gets virtually infinite movement range.

Headbutting Bolverk through the lightning won't stun, though.

I beat Bolverk with a lvl 3 or 4 Iver (normal difficulty) but yes I had Zefr's wind ability.

Breeze is much more reliable than Runic Gale. So, yes, Zefr Rank 6+ helps big time.

You need to get him hit by lightning to free him from Bellower's control. It will stop the Bellower apparition and no more regen. Not that Bolverk becomes any less crazed.

I thought so as well, but in fact it just means it removes Bellower's mind from Bolverk, not Bolverk's own madness. No more Bellower boost on Bolverk.
It is a bit confusing the first time around.

It is possible to beat Bolverk without doing a single point of damage to him with Iver... so yes it's actually quite doable.
CatMeowMeow Apr 24, 2016 @ 1:13pm
I beated Bolverk without Eyvind's or Zefr's help on the second time.
Iver got 19 STR
Bolverk got 13 STR 14 Armor + 2 Resist from Miniture statue.
I put and 3 WILL into him for 8 damage.
Boom Artery Strike
The end.
