Game seems to have issues with the R9 series. I'm gonna take a jab at ya though, that CPU and GPU don't match haha quite the bottleneck ya got going on.

A few problems regarding AMD cards were solved by forcing DX9. Go to your Library, right click on DoK's name, Go into properties, then in launch options. add:

-dx9 or -d3d9

And it will force the game to load DirectX 9.

It's so random...

I tried the -dx9 and played a 2v2 skirmish all the way through to the end. Tried playing a 1v1 skirmish right after and the game crashed about 10 minutes in.

Going to try the -d3d9 now.

1v1 skirmish with -d3d9, still crashed (though I almost made it to the end)

Rats.....

sitzem,

Do this. After a crash, do not restart DoK. go to the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Deserts of Kharak\Data

And copy the file output_log.txt

It's DoK's logfile. You can upload it somewhere and share it here. If it is a hardware failure or something like that we can check on the log (also adding DXDiag and MSInfo can help).

Not saying it is your hardware or software, but while many complain of failures/flaws others just keep playing. I've been playing DoK in 3 different PCs since I bought and I didn't have a single crash.

Taking a look into your logs. There are some interesting things:

Error: Online: Unable to load Steam DLC pack at index 0!
Error: Online: Unable to load Steam DLC pack at index 1!
Error: Online: Unable to load Steam DLC pack at index 6!

But these codes are just the game saying "you don't own the DLCs 0,1 and 6". It is not an issue.

Then it loads a game and and give a lot of messages, most of those are attempts to apply a status to a non-existing asset. I'm not sure why these messages are being displayed, the best guess is to ask BBI.

BUT, I see this in the end of your log:

Warn: Gameplay: Presentation tried to get the type name for an entity {Index=275,CreationID=7516} that no longer exists in the current sim frame Frame 19261. Searching stored sim frames

"Searching stored sim frames." is the part that worries me the most. The game is looking for something into the already pre-rendered frames. Why? why the current frame doesn't have the info it needs?

Then there is this:

Error: Gameplay: Presentation tried to get the type name for an entity {Index=275,CreationID=7516} on frame Frame 19261 that no longer exists in any of the past stored sim frames. Returning empty string!

Leading into this:

Info: Online: The State Frame Manager cannot apply a new frame at Frame 19392! Is the presentation running too slowly?

And I ask... is your PC lagging? is there any hardware related issues? In order to check that I go to your MSInfo and I already found some possible causes.

7/8/2016 3:59 AM Application Error Faulting application name: cnext.exe, version: 10.1.1.1522, time stamp: 0x5661c9e1
Faulting module name: atidxx64.dll, version: 8.17.10.661, time stamp: 0x56f000fe
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000000000055128f
Faulting process id: 0x1754
Faulting application start time: 0x01d1d8c1ed10d93c
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext\cnext.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\atidxx64.dll
Report Id: 6b493fc4-44c0-11e6-aed1-bcaec5e2a3d7

Your Video driver is crashing. Crashed twice on July 8th.

On June 9th error is states that there is a file missing/damaged/corrupted within your Windows folder:

"Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR120.dll
Report Id: 93158714-2e02-11e6-a6bb-bcaec5e2a3d7"

And this leads to a lot of other failures. You can see that Kerbal crashes a lot (KSP).

And looking for DoK failures, it is not that isn't there. it is, but right before your most recent failure on DoK there is a LiveKernelFailure on Windows:

7/9/2016 10:45 PM Windows Error Reporting Fault bucket 151335248, type 30
Event Name: AppHangB1
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1: DesertsOfKharak64.exe

7/9/2016 10:44 PM Windows Error Reporting Fault bucket , type 0
Event Name: LiveKernelEvent
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1:
P2: &#x000d

And the same pattern happens on the error at 10PM. So, it is not that the game doesn't crashes, it does, but something else forces it to crash.

So my suggestion is: at first try to force DoK to use 32bits instead of 64. Any possible failure associated with memory leaks, and with 64bits exceptions will be avoided.

Add this to your launch options, just like you did with the Dx9:

-32bit

BUT, this is just a temporary fix! Your windows has problems and if you can check it, apply the latest updated, use one of the windows tools to check consistency accross the system:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

I'm not a support agent, but these are the problems that I see. Fixing windows problems, reverting driver to a more stable version and doing a consistency check on DoK should be enough to solve any other possible problem.

For those of you experiencing crash on mission 3, this is a known bug, just switch off all the shadows in settings. You can enable them in mission 4.
