big plane things.
ive just got to the bit where u get ressuplied by the big plane bois, and i thought: why tf dont they just fly a carrier to near the jarachi object. theyre fookin big enough, or maybe they BECOME a carrier by dropping the wings. just seems like a waste of time to journey through the wastes when u can just fly. tho the other wrecks that u find are cool

Good question, I am sure someone with better lore knowledge than me will respond with a rationale. My take on it (but it's been a while since I played the campaign, so I maybe wrong here) it seems those planes can only land and take off on a big enough runway, and each mission is part of an investigation as to what happened etc. So it would have had to have landed multiple times, even before the point where they meet the carrier.

The Planes landing gear are such that require a flat enough surface to land on. There was only one place within range of the Object before it would be impossible to resupply. Besides this, the planes only had enough fuel to make it out that far and return to Tiir on fumes and even if they had more fuel, the Kapisi was very low on supplies and likely won't be able to last more than a few days at most.. oh they could get to the object, but they'd all either starve to death or end up with terminal dehydration.

Yeah farther on in the campaign there is a mission where you're resupplied again by the big plane bois and it is explained a bit.

Also the carrier is probably heavier than ten of the plane bois combined, good luck putting wings big enough on one to make it fly
