Mouse Input Stutter
Mouse Input Stutter in Battlefield 6

Overview of the Issue

Many players are experiencing significant mouse input stutter in Battlefield 6, which affects gameplay despite high frame rates. This issue is not related to hardware performance, as the game runs smoothly with a controller. The stuttering occurs when using a mouse, making aiming difficult.

Causes of Mouse Stutter

Polling Rate Mismatch: The game engine appears to process mouse input at a lower polling rate (125Hz) than many gaming mice (1000Hz). This discrepancy leads to the game discarding most mouse input packets, resulting in choppy movement.

Engine-Level Bug: The stutter is attributed to an engine-level flaw carried over from previous Battlefield titles, particularly Battlefield 2042.

Solutions to Mitigate Stutter

Lower Mouse Polling Rate: Change your mouse settings to a polling rate of 125Hz using your mouse software.
Disable Overlays: Turn off overlays from applications like Discord and NVIDIA GeForce Experience to reduce conflicts.
Adjust Graphics Settings: Experiment with settings like V-Sync and G-Sync, and consider capping the frame rate to 60 FPS.
Check for Software Conflicts: Ensure no background applications are interfering with the game, especially those that modify input.

Conclusion

While these solutions can help reduce mouse input stutter, the underlying issue is a flaw in the game engine. Players are encouraged to report their experiences to help developers address the problem in future updates.

I also play on an OLED screen which makes the issue much more noticeable. I want to buy the full game as it is very fun, but this issue ruins the experience for me and many other players. Please fix this devs!
I quitted fixes that implies downgrading my settings just because an app is compiled in the worst possible way.

indeed hit reg is still a roll of dices... and i think that this is a reason why people fleed from BF

The issue has nothing to do with in-game graphics settings or player hardware. It is a game engine issue that players are only experiencing in this game. Look at the Youtube video description. Frames are locked for them at 165hz. Same for me I have my frames capped at 117 and my 5090 pushes it with zero issue.

How about the cpu?
I have an i9-13900K. The game performance is great and I get max frames in the shooting range. The stutter ONLY happens on mouse. If I plug in a controller it does not happen when panning the camera with the analog sticks. Again, it is not a hardware issue.

Buddy, you clearly are ignoring everything in the post and what I have said. This does not happen in any other game at all. It's not a Windows 11 issue it is an issue with the engine in Battlefield 6 according to multiple sources and peoples experiences. If I was having a mouse-specific issue it would be happening in other games. Stop replying with unrelated topics and links.
This is simply the failure of the studio to do ♥♥♥♥ right as they have failed with 2042, everything was fine but an update comes out and thereis now something wrong with me, my pc, my graphics, my mouse everything is wrong on my end suddenly but the studio is glorious in their work, its just sloppy work for such a company.
Maybe you just have greasy mousepad and worn out slides?
Same here. HUGE Stutters like fps drops from 120 to 30 every time, when i turn mouse fast , since last update. It's so unplayble ( Maya x 2khz )
i just stopped playing EA games, this helped too
Hey folks

I wanted to drop in and let you know that i have jotted down a few threads on the mouse input/stuttering, etc. and I have passed along the feedback y'all have provided over to the studio team.

Thank you for giving details and providing the other thread links and the videos. I have also passed those along as well.

Cheers

Not sure what causes this since I have a 8k polling rate mouse and haven't seen any of the issues here. Playing on a RTX 4090 and 14900k with low graphics at 1080p @ 280hz | Final Mouse ULX 8k. Although I have a buddy on a RTX 3080/10700k who can barely pull 90 fps at 1080p minimum, game seems to have very different bugs depending on hardware.
