Thoughts on HDR?
Everything is looking grey/washed out for me... I'm wondering whether it's the same for everyone or I got some settings wrong

For me its super blown out ive tried everything from disabling HDR in windows to adjusting the monitor itself.
HDR is broken, it works in main menu but ingame it quickly disables itself. You can see it when opening the HDR calibration mid game - it's just a grey block. Dissappointing!
Can't use renodx on multiplayer games. You get ban

The calibration menu is garbage as well, no values to set anything to, just the eenie meeni miny mo method, what a joke.
Not really worth it if you don't have OLED either way. My HDR calibrated just fine though with the C2 TV(s) I have.
maps is to bright and eye adaptation works like a sht

i agree, problem with most monitors is their hdr is usually hdr400. if its not hdr800 or better a lot of hdr content is just going to look bad. but oled? hard to f up hdr on a oled
im on a oled lg c5 and the game looks amazing

For me it looks super good, oled hdr ultrawide, maybe a little too dark in some places (looks realistic) Still manage to be in top3 scoreboard so not much big deal.
HDR is broke. It uses windows HDR. Make sure under windows display settings it's turned on. Even with it one mine was still broke.

I had to go to My Documents, Battlefield 6, Settings, PROF.SAV_Profile.

Open it up with notepad. I had to change GST.RenderDisplayMappingHDRpeaklumma to 400. It was on 10,000 (my screen only tops at 400 nits so you should change that to your screen specs.

Also had to change GST.Render Directx12. It was set to 0 (off). Change it to 1.

Change Gst.Render HighDynamicRangemode from 0 to 1.

Doing all of this finally fixed my HDR and it's very clear now. Also increased my FPS on Ultra from 110ish to 160 fps (prob because it never had my direct x 12 turned on for some reason)

Hope this helps

u made my day bro, i was stuck since release and that is the solution,
THANK YOU!!!!
Hey,

I can find GST.Render Directx12 and HighDynamicRangemode but I can't find GST.RenderDisplayMappingHDRpeaklumma.

I have a color profile associated with my display using the Windows 11 HDR Calibration Tool...maybe that's why?

LE: never mind I found it, it had HDR10 in its name since I have a HDR10+ capable display

Dunno if it's placebo but it seems to work?

why wouldn't you just use windows calibration instead?

Because the game has it's own HDR Calibration setting it completely ignores Win 11 HDR Calibration profile.

If u know what peak nits can your monitor reach (for example I can reach 2200 nits on my Samsung S95F, same value I put in the Win 11 HDR Calibration profile that I set up) you need to go into Documents and find the Profsave_profile, open it with notepad, and put where it says "GST.RenderDisplayMappingHDRpeaklumma" the value you know is correct -> for example I put GST.RenderDisplayMappingHDR10peaklumma 2200.000000.

I put HDR10 and not HDR in that setting because Samsungs can do HDR10+ (but can't do Dolby Vision like other displays for example like LGs).

If you think it's still overly bright you can lower that value -> each "tick" in-game when you change the HDR Calibration slider with left or right keys on the keyboard is +25 or -25.

Also change the setting GST.Render Directx12 to 1 and HighDynamicRangemode to 1 as well (both were set to 0 for some reason on my end).
