Vehicle Regeneration
Can this please be simply reverted. I know its bugged as well, but this was completely unnecessary as the tank combat was in a great place. The best it has been since launch. This change completely ruined vehicle combat to the point where you either get slaughtered or just want to stay back and camp. Aggressive play is now punished. With zero infantry air counters, a year later, this makes helicopters even stronger against tanks.

I would just hire people that enjoy battlefield, or even play battlefield. Maybe just hire people that enjoy playing video games?

Secuty, thepapy, glowing skin, glowing gun. What are we doing here?

It's called vibe coding lol
I am now not sure if I want to stay in this game and/or buy anything from the store at this point.
Yeah, it's pretty bleak.
I'm not saying it's optimal now, but regeneration was way too quick before.
This nerf made me lose all heart with this game
Sometimes the bug works the other way and your tank starts healing before the 12 second cooldown!

But resetting the cooldown if you fire is a pretty lame attempt at trying to please everyone.

You could easily get caught out by infantry in a tank before the update and get blown up in seconds but it depends on the map and where you get attacked from.

This change has not affected tanks that sit on hills, but it will encourage more players to sit on hills.
Old BFs didn't even have "regeneration", how did we manage to play back then I wonder..

Sure if you want to go back 15 years or so when tanks vs infantry was completely OP!

If the infantry players want to keep asking for weaker tank health then you need to give them alternatives so smart tank players can use skill and tactics to survive.

Passive auto-regen (health recovers over time out of combat, driver stays inside)

Battlefield 3 — Introduced vehicle auto-regen. Lightly damaged vehicles (not disabled/on fire) recover armor after a delay if you avoid further damage. Maintenance specialization speeds it up. Disabled vehicles do not regen and need an Engineer.

Battlefield 4 — Same system as BF3. Maintenance specialization makes recovery start sooner / speeds it. Non-disabled vehicles regen; disabled ones need repairs.

Battlefield Hardline — Vehicles have auto-regen. The Maintenance upgrade reduces the time before auto-recovery starts and helps with critical/disabled recovery time.

Battlefield 2042 — Full vehicle health regen after a delay (applies to combat and civilian vehicles). Also has an activatable Repair System equipment that immediately starts/boosts regeneration (repairs parts + overtime regen that stacks with passive).

Battlefield 6 — Yes (the one you’re discussing). Passive vehicle health regen after a delay (currently 12s base, with the firing-reset and known bugs). Field Maintenance and other upgrades affect the speed/delay; Emergency Repair is an active ability.

Driver self-repair from inside (manual, usually limited/chunked, not pure passive regen)

Battlefield 1 — No passive auto-regen. The driver can self-repair from inside by holding a button (fills a circle, restores a chunk of health / fixes parts, but you lose control of the vehicle while doing it and damage cancels it). Support players with the Repair Tool can still repair from outside faster. Some Incursions mode specializations added limited passive repair.

Battlefield V — Limited self-repair / quick repair abilities return for vehicles (not full unlimited auto-regen like BF3/4). Often restricted in how much health they restore; full repair still usually needs a Support or supply point.
Interesting overview, I played all parts from 1942 to BF4 but not 2042/1/V.
So far I think BF2's game mechanics were best.

Some regeneration is ok, but before this patch it was ludicrously quick. Average skill level with vehicles seems to be very low in this game and miles behind infantry PvP.
I still have no problems now with a bit of teamplay and situational awareness. It's a tank, not a rolling fortress.

Cooldown was 12 seconds before the patch and its 12 seconds now.
Regen rate has been increased by over a second or so.
I also believe if the tank health is in the red it now takes longer but can't recall exact values.

Average skill level is always low for vehicles in battlefield games because everyone can operate one but only a small percentage master them.
You fire and the regen timer resets. It's not right. They made the rear and top of the tanks take more damage. I'm fine with that. It's the regen timer taking so long to kick in that kills tank combat. On top of that the bug that makes it even longer. On top of that there is no infantry counter to air so helicopters dominate, well Attack helicopter, I think the little bird might be in a decent spot finally.

Oh and the midnight something skin. Why does it have a batman mask? Who want to play BF6 looking like batman?
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, the "repair" feature that the gunner can do for the vehicle doesn't work whatsoever anymore when it reaches a critical state. I've spammed the living hell out of "3" when that pops up in the middle of my screen and it does absolutely nothing.

Yes its an ill thought out change that gimps tanks so we can't even defend our damaged tank without risking even more damage and resetting regen health.

And its gonna promote more camping tanks which apparently the infantry main hates, so enjoy that consequence of your complaining!
