Beeswax Farming

Hello!

We all know that the queen bee block will summon her drones when the conditions are just right. But how can we place this amazing block to create a BEE UTOPIA? Mild spoilers ahead...

First we need some queen bees. You can find these in the tree tops throughout the world. Once you collect a bunch, you're ready to throw a BEE FIESTA.

Queen bees flourish on top of leaves. A flat slab of elderwood leaves is a great setting for your BEE EXPLOSION.

Place a queen bee on your bed of leaves. Place the next queen bee down one, and over two blocks (like a knight's move in chess). Repeat until your fill up your slab or you run out of queens.

The stage is set for your BEE EXTRAVAGANZA! Give the queens a little time...

For over a week now nobody on my server has managed to get the bees to respawn once they are cosntructed such as this.
previously we were getting successive respawns but not any more?!?!?

Welll...the Fog has lifted from todays weather and guess what?...yep beeswax is back, along with planted saplings now growing.
Clearly the weather has an effect...ingenious )))

Sorry to necro this thread, but I have a question - when doing this, how do you get your queens back? they seem to all turn into honey, so you basically get a single-shot at farming this way.

beewax behaves the same way flowers do.

upon grabbing the wax theres a low% chance to get an additional block. in this case its no additional wax block but a queenbee instead

does this have to be built outside or can I build it in a cavern underneath my base? I have an empty mine under my base that I would like to convert to something. Would it just need a lot of light or does it actually need to be outside?
