Farms in Creativerse (potentially some spoilers)
All, wanted to start a thread on farming,, yes. farming.

So far I know of the following types of farms.

1) Beewax farm (queen bees on a bed of leaves)
2) Corruption farm (10x10x1 (minimum size), sealed up (so the criteras can't run away.. nice for chest spawns.)
3) Guess you could also do a cavern farm) but would need low light so mobs spawn (at least the worms). Could do a lava farm if you wanted one, not sure why, hot foots are a pain to kill.
4) Diamond/Coal Farm.. (just need that dirty water). :)

Other farms, (I think could exist)
Flower farms.. Going to assume its based off the correct leaves (making a 10x10) of the appropriate combo.

Tree farm.. Simply sapplings, room and time.

WOULD LOVE to figure out HOW to make an obsidian farm as that is one of the most important elements (needed for the advanced collectors).

Any other types of farms?

you see i appreciate what you are trying to do here, but now you are making it too easy for new players. why not just hint at things instead of saying up front how to do these methods of gameplay.

part of the fun in this game is discovery, and myself and a lot of other players that know these tactics spent a great deal of time experimenting and messing around to make these wonderful discoveries.

this thread has really taken that Eureeka!! element away now, because its very satisfying to make discoveries like these on your own. its almost like a Contra code :) for newbies.

i realize you put a spoiler warning in your headline but who's not going to read this lol.
There are those players that like the feeling of discovery. There are those, *cough me cough* that like the discovery through research, either by given clues or even spoilers. Some of the 'hints' given in the forum are so vague it is frustrating, especially if you are looking for something and are only given one step of, say, three.

I am not totally lazy, there are still parts on back order, but most of the discoveries in this game feel accidental. You happened to use a bomb and it nicked an edge of something, there was a change.

Maybe i am alone in this, but I like order and logic, chance and random annoy me. To other styles of play, I say, play on and enjoy.
Wish there was a way to farm mud... Water surrounding dirt or something

No, I'm in agreement. I'm not a real big fan of trial & error... And I'm also not a fan of writing things down on real paper with a real pencil, so if a game doesn't have any sort of facility to remember what I may have just discovered, I always end up repeating the same steps via trial & error, which just kind of pisses me off.

I'm with you on this one!
So, how do you farm obsidian, coal, and diamonds?
Obsidian cannot be 'farmed' (at least certainly not to my knowledge)
If people really want to know how to farm coal and diamonds, I can post it here.

One thing you can do for your mob farms to give you enough light without stopping them from spawning is to put some lava falls in your spawner. You might get some hottfoots (hotfeet?) and warmworms spawning next to them though.
I use a lava spawner for chests and hotfoots. Killing hotfoot is easy if you have a flat open space and they are an excellent source of gunpowder.

You don't need to 'farm' any of the normal flowers (red yellow and blue). You may notice that sometimes when you pick up one of these, you actually get two, but when you place them down, you only lose one. You can use this to make infinite flowers.

You can farm cactus flowers by just placing a whole lot of cacti and waiting for flowers to grow. (Basically like the beeswax farm)

Ice farms are a little tricky, but it can be done.
"Farms" (or fountains) of the various liquids are trivial to build and with a little tweaking a lava fountain can double as a hardened lava farm as well.
Why do you farm Cactus?

And what type of blocks do you need to set up the corruption farm?
World is divided by 16x16 regions called "chunks". If chunk have at least 100 corrupted blocks, monsters will spawn at these blocks. So 10x10 is enough ONLY if it belongs to one chunk. You need 19x19 to be sure, or 9x9x4.

Same logic applies to any other monster farm.

Cactus-farms are useful for growing cactus flowers. Cacti can also make Dried Leafies, ordinary Leafies, Night Leafies or Dustevils spawn though, depending on where you place the cacti and where you put artificial lighting.

All types of corrupted blocks have worked well for me on my test-arenas :) For diamond chests as well as for corrupted mobs.

I cannot confirm this "rule". Instead lately I've made a small platform of corrupted wood on water crossing 2 chunks and after a while corrupted mobs showed up, now sometimes they pop up in quite high numbers there too, plus diamond treasure chests as well.

Next to that one I've built way larger platforms, one made from bedrock and one from limerock, but nothing has been spawning on those for (RL-)days now.

I haven't found anything that limestone or bedrock make spawn yet besides the rare but still occasional Miru. I suggest replacing them with Salactite.

I already have Stalactite-arenas too. A few updates ago on my Siltstone-arenas and also on my Stalactite-arenas Mirus have spawned in a quite large amount, and Warmworms too - but nowadays this does not happen anymore :( I'll still test some more with mixing different kinds of rocks, it might help.

Luckily ever since I've mixed Limestone, Bedrock and a bit of Stone too, lately some Night Rocksters have spawned in darkness there :) That's what I was aiming for. I somehow have hoped for Night Pigsies too, but it seems they need Dirt and/or Grass added too, and that's somehow... boring :p
My large corruption spawner doesn't work at all... It's at the bottom of a giant pit mine so no light, all the lava and siltstone and stalactite types spawn down there but my 20x16x2 corruption pad doesn't do anything at all ever.

I also made a Rockzilla temple and it doesn't spawn either :( It's at a natural sand location, rocksters, pebbles, and shells spawn there just fine. I even made it bigger than it needs to be. Does it need to be in a specific biome? Mine's in the grassland.
