Ice Blocks that don't melt
The newest build challenge is using ice/snow blocks. I'm having a hard time pulling up the data on this. I'm curious what ice/snow block types don't melt? Is there any way to ensure the blocks with low-melting points don't freeze? I have the Frozen/Ice Bundle that includes the bundle.

I was going to be building an iceberg on the ocean tile an entrance if you will to an underwater build, I'd appreciate any thoughts or answers.

I'm watching this thread.....

O_O

After reading all this:

https://creativerse.fandom.com/wiki/Ice

I've noticed that some of it is not true.... and a lone block of snow stays where a lone block of ice melts if placed... unless it's been crafted into something else ( Slopes / Inner / Outer Corner ect. ) , then it stays... or if it forms naturally but not in a natural place it also stays.

odd thing that.

So as long as I used slopes/inners/etc it should be melt-free. Thanks.

Ice and snow need a couple layers built up fast so they don't melt, the higher the ambient temperature, the faster they can melt, so in the lava layer you'll have to be really fast. I build out of ice all the time when I play because you can put lights behind it and they glow nice.

Doesn't putting light on them melt them by raising the temperature?

As has been mentioned, true ice (not the crafted or processed bits) melts in warmer temps. In my testing an 8 block cube (2x2x2) placed quickly is necessary to start building in higher temps (upper 90's to 100ish). About the point that your heat meter pops up, I haven't been able to get ANY configuration of ice to stay stable, placed manually. I haven't done any testing with blueprints and flood filling, though.Temperate climates (grassland, forest, etc) you can get away with one block thick walls if you place quickly enough to build up a few that mutually support each other.

The crafted and processed ice blocks (rocky ice whatever) do not melt, I believe. I haven't excessively tested them to confirm, though. I'm pretty sure they also don't cool down the spaces next to them.

I do believe you are correct there.
The frozen bundle's *ice maker / snowflake maker / sparkly thing / whatever it's called* is a great way to cool down surrounding temperatures with a block that doesn't melt. It also isn't solid. However, standing among a "platform" of these machines will not get you nearly as cold as standing on a platform of ice. Nothing will keep a block of ice cooler than another block of ice.
