Building mountains? You must have a huge build planned! I would love to see it when you get it past the mountain range part of the build. I am curious how you see this working. Many people have asked for creative, but I am not thinking that is exactly what you are asking for here. It sounds more like you would like to drag and drop major features into the world and resize them with a pull of the cursor... (More like SimCity) Please let me know if I am wrong!
If I am right then please expand on what you are wanting to see. Would this be a separate program or built in?
as i personally never played the pc version and therefore didnt use that mod i only came to know about it via YT
its pretty much an additional sculpting system like the 3D software blender has (or others like ZBrush).
It didn't work very well and i got mad. :<
*but to be hornest, i think most of the stuff i say, is poorly worded, since english isn't my first language, but i keep trying :p
TheRemyD, yes, im askin for a World/Map Editor to Change Major parts of my World.
I want to have tools to create things like an Ocean, Vulcano, Meteor Craters, Spheres, Flying Islands (not the blueprint), Insane Mountains, Whole (new?) Biomes, or a World that looks absolutely doomed(< becuz i really like dark spooky stuff) in just a few clicks & Minutes (but im also okay if it takes more time and effort to create stuff like that :p ).
For example; Imagin you build a City somewhere but then later you realize it would look way better "somewhere else" and you dont want to spend another XY Hours to rebuild it, so why not "Copy and Paste" the Whole City to the place of your Dreams, or even better just change the whole world and create the place of your dreams?
I want to play with all kinds of liquids Water, Lava uhm.. liquid-goo <(to make a super sticky swamp out of it or something else) and make Lakes, Rivers and Oceans out of it, with just a few clicks, why? Becuz i think it would be absolutely awesome to have the tools to make your dreams come true ...
and Hoki is also somewhat right, in my first post I was more thinking about Programms like "Voxelsniper" or "MCEdit" from Minecraft, but now it imagin those tools with something like a SimCity-like Map Editor? It would be insanely awesome and would unlock so much potential for the communtiy to do stuff.
Build-in or a seperature Programm?
Thats a good question;
I think "this" beein a seperate programm would be better for manny reasons like (for example) (some sort of mod support) it would be "more easy" to impliment things into it like "Add your favorite Brush-tool" to your Editor, and other things i can't think of right now.
And i would love(!) to pay for a Seperate Editor-Programm, *add unlimited potencial meme right here*
*(But you should be at least World Owner or World Admin to use all these tools on Worlds, otherwise everything will go super crazy in a bad way)
*Another Thing;
One point why Minecraft got so big was becuz of the huge modding community, we can't really mod stuff here, so the Editor beein a Programm could help a lot to change that, and make creativerse explode.
And "Build-in" ?
Not enough options, limited potentcial, manny downsides, - please no.
I hope that makes it more understandable what i would love to have for this game.
having it as a post creation tool would basically just adding to what we got right now. the system would still use the templates we got now.
but a seperate programm would be something i'd totally support even if it'd cost me like 20 bucks
Gimme my shiny ui :p <3
Ah, I didn't notice (which is weird cuz I'm usually pointing these things out lol). It popped up cuz kewlaide responded...bad kewlaide :P
Anyways, it is usually better to make sure that a thread is less than a few months old for games that are constantly being updated. For instance, this thread was long before blueprints were a thing. And that flood fill tool is amazing for building places up. Excavators are pretty nice for tearing a place down as well.
