Auto Sorting?

Items auto sort when they go into your chest and bag?

I've noticed some items like the capture blocks all go in order from small too large.

Even the Forbidden items (Forbidden Red Wood Wall) etc

does every item auto sort?

We are not able to arrange the items in the bag part of the inventory, just arranging in the hotbar.

Same for the chest. We do not have the ability to move the order of things stored in a chest.

Do you want that ability to be a suggestion for the developers?

I mean it don't matter too me I like the auto sort but if it could maybe be a option you could turn on/off that be cool .. like Turn Auto Sort On/Off

I just want to be able to have an ORGANIZED storage area, wheres a stupid kid when you have extra cash and need work to be done :P still 1000+ chests to lable with arcsigns and about 3 mill items to sort and place into correct chest :( would be nice if we could just dump it into one chest and it would auto sort into the right chest by label or item id number.

This would be ideal as I also like the current auto sort and would be annoyed if I HAD to move everything around. The option would be nice though

Any update on auto sorting? I just started to play this game and to be honest - the inventory/chest handling is a pain in the block.

There is no update at this time, it still remains a popular suggestion

I'm all in for this. Additional mechanisma with either currently available or new blocks/machines that provide us with the opportunity to set up automated storage areas. Maybe limit the range so you have to set up multiple of said blocks and plan your storage area a bit, but even HAVING this would make sorting the bunch of mixed blocks in your inventory a whole lot easier. I just finished unlocking all crafting recipes and have my inventory stuffed with a pile of blocks and items and it's a real bother to sort them even though my storage area isn't all that big...
