Any way to fast forward the night? And what do you guys do during the night early stages of game?
I know some games let you use the bed which would fast forward the night. In the beginning it is boring just sitting in your base waiting for day light.

And what do you guys do during the night during the early stages of game when you really can not fight anything?

If I can craft inside I try to do that. Otherwise I just look out the window. And see if the Night Rocksters catch fire. Then it's daylight.

The first night, I generally spend turning six beeswax into about 100 wax and 20ish queen bees.

I always craft.. or build.. You can also tell by looking at your torches wether it's day or night by the color of the torch..if it's night it's a dark blue, day it's kind of a grey or brown color.

^^ I still do it, I craft, gather and build above during the day and at night I'm in the corruption more enemies and the thing is something I seek out as I got from 4 of them a full suit of diamond armor, 2 grand arc tech chests, 3 arc chest, 1 grand arch tech table, 2 arc tech tables, 1 grand arc tech lamp, 2 arc tech lamps. In the beggining I would at night build a basement, make my house bigger ect.

digging under earth, crafting stuff, smoking a cigarette or building on high spots (where the baddies at night will not get you) - Stuff like this. And there comes a point in the game where you have a solid sword and armor.. so no reason to fear the night anymore.

i do whatever i need to; forge, process, craft, forage, build, explore, sometimes i just go for a hike through the forrest or a mountain range. the night cycle really doesn't scare me all that much, even when starting a new world.

there are also times that i'll carry just 1 block of dirt and go and get killed on purpose just to collect the Urns for decorations lol. :)

you could also practice your combat skills by wandering around beating pigsies with nothing but a stick.

There's no way to fast forward the night currently, though we've had people ask about this before. It's tricky because it's a multiplayer game, so if we did do something it would have to involve a trigger everyone pushed at once. We may look into doing it down the road if more people keep clamoring for the ability.

When I just start out in a new world, I dig a hole, climb in, and block up the hole above me to wait out the night. But by night 2 or 3, I have enough armor and weapons to dice up any night time baddies so you don't have to worry about it for long. Make survival your first order of business and youll be fine day or night.

Do it the same way Minecraft did it if you should put it in place. I hate even wording it that way, but it's a good idea. One player got in a bed, then you were in a 'waiting' screen. At that point once all players got into their own beds. It did trigger effect the night time phase to pass til morning. Obviously it would requires the players to communicate to get this done. But that's the basic idea to start with. I personally like the realistic effect of having to wait for morning. That constant fear of, is something outside? Is something going to spawn on me? It's a game, death happens. That's part of the game and people learn from mistakes. If everything was easy, then why play the game? I personally like challenge. But that's just me :) Keep up the great work fellas :)

Speaking from another perspective, I've been trying to do a "how to survive your first night in Creativerse" video, and it would be really handy to have more control over a world for things like that. I've had to make 16 different worlds, because I don't want to wait 5-10 minutes for morning to come between takes, and also because some worlds have generated with fog too thick to do a proper tutorial.

What if getting into a bed could start a "vote"? One player gets into bed, then any other players online at the time see "a player wants to fast-forward to dawn, do you agree?" Everyone has 10-15 seconds to respond, and if there aren't any "no" votes, it goes through.

Or instead of controlling the night you could craft a pendant that held baddies at bay. Each level down you mine would offer new materials for a stronger pendant with a wider area of effect. This would allow players that do not wish to deal with the baddies to craft and wear the pendants and let the others, who are hunting baddies, continue the good fight.

Remy......that is kind of a genius idea!
RjaKotari Dec 10, 2014 @ 11:56am
Wouldn't that be accomplished by simply letting the people who don't want to fight the baddies to remain indoors for the duration of the night?
Minxell Dec 10, 2014 @ 3:42pm
I find the idea of the Pendant that TheRemyD suggested a great idea for when i'm building..+1
