Motion sickness
I'm having some issues with the new movement system. There seem to be a lot of hiccups with it. For example after landing from a jump there is a noticeable slow down in movement speed that didn't used to be there. This also happens anytime you bump into an object. In general it is making movement very jerky. When building I also noticed some other strange things. When crouched and trying to strafe, I was able to strafe right while headed east all though it seemed more difficult and the range of motion was much less than it used to be. The very strange part is when trying to strafe right and crouched while headed west I would not be able to move after placing a block.

It also seems to take a bit longer to get going at full speed and the character does not stop on a dime like it used to, which is very clear when coming to a stop from running speed. The character will slide instead of stopping. At first I thought all these things were just bugging me and then I saw what happens when moving forward while crouched. There is a very strong rubber band type effect where you move slowly and then speed back up over each and every block. I literally started to get motion sickness from this. And then I noticed it is actually doing this all of the time it is just far more easy to see when crouched.

agreed on all points -except the motion sickness, I haven't had that, I keep motion blur off (recently just turned it on for comparison, forgot what it was like)
do you have motion blur on still? (I think it's on by default)

It doesn't seem to be the motion blur. As far as I can tell it's the rubber banding that simulates in me the feeling of being on a boat bobbing on the waves. This can be seen most clearly by making a line of blocks that have borders around each block (glass works) and then crouch and walk forward along those blocks.

Of course not everyone is bothered by being on a boat so I suspect most people will not be bothered by this effect.

Just last night another player posted describing experiencing nausea since R15.

I would love to hear from other players who might be experiencing the same thing. Definitely chime in if you've noticed any feelings of motion sickness since the collision and movement refactor in R15.

i get motion sickness from a lot of First Person games not all have motion blur ,what i do is use a pair of the Anti-travel/motion sickness wristbands. i t really reduces the amount of sickness i feel and after a few hours of wearing them while playing a game i slowly seem to build a tolerance for it and eventualy dont need to wear them anymore

I had sickness with Minecraft honestly. Because I think my eyes don't feel comfortable looking at all the small squares but I don't hate 8bit styles but I realize to stay away from games with tiny pixel squares.

Creativerse hasn't made me sick because the graphics look smoother.

I'm not sure if this would help, but maybe take a few breaks from Creativerse if you do play it for a long period of time. Drink plenty of water at least so you don't feel dehydrated, and usually if you're eating something, like a meal or a snack, I think it be better to leave Creativerse be and do your eating duties first because personally, I don't feel comfortable eating while playing a game lol.

Eating would normally give you a break away from whatever you're doing so...also, I think looking away from the screen for a few seconds may help as well.

Not sure if these suggestions would help you but when I tried it before when playing Minecraft, It did not work, I was constantly dying but keep in that mind that your body is yours, because we probably both function differently with how we react to playing games. I must be a weakling when I see Minecraft so...but yeah, hopefully you can get something sorted out to fix your motion sickness problem.

The only time i experience any kind of motion sickness is when I'm high in the air.. I think mine is more from being afraid of heights, but it also doesn't change the fact, that i still feel sick.

I've been feeling this a bit too on the recent updates. I believe the motion funkiness is something the team is trying to address sooner rather than later.

@Deeks, nobody get's motion sickness more than me. The day I started playing this game, my time limit was 10-15 minutes before I needed to step outside. Since the R17, I've played for 4 hours straight with no motion sickness. I believe if those that get motion sickness adjust to R17 new movement and enable motion blur, you won't get sickness. R17 has been the opposite for me.

Fov settings seem to be something that helps here...I knew they always help me as long as they are at 90 or above.

@bumbinoguy, Oh hmm. I guess it makes some sense. When I started playing during our first prototypes I was kinda woozy, but that passed after a some time playing. Maybe I just have to recalibrate a bit after having played with the old movement for so long. It's good to hear that it's better for you. I think there's a fair bit of dialing in, but I think we're getting there.

Not sure if this thread is too deep for the Devs to see, but hopefully it gets seen. I was one of the people that posted about experiencing nausea since R15...

I currently have 175 hours of play-time with Creativerse, however MOST of that time is pre-R15! This is due to the nausea issue. In R15, I'd play for roughly 10-20 seconds and begin experiencing too much nausea to be able to play. In R16 (edit: actually R17 I think) this problem was partially addressed, and I was able to play for about 20 minutes before the nausea became too much. Still not great, but definitely an improvement over R15.

Unfortunately, in R18 the nausea problem seems to have gotten worse. I can only play for about 1 minute before the nausea overcomes me. I sincerely hope this issue is fully resolved sometime soon, as Creativerse is unplayable for me right now. :sadelf:

I think that the problem stems from some kind of "rubber-banding" occurring during changes in movement. So turning around, starting to move, stopping movement, small movements, etc. are incredibly difficult for me to watch! Also, I noticed there seems to be a small delay from when I initiate a change in movement, and when the movement reflects that change. I have a pretty strong computer and video card, so I doubt it's a rendering issue at my end.

Please fix this issue soon...

Thanks for this feedback, Silver-Lining - I'll absolutely pass it along to the dev team.

I just turned off the motion blur and everything was good.

I have recently began experiencing motion sickness due to the "sticky landing" when you jump. When landing there is an almost magnetic popping onto the ground that is causing me issues.
