How do you grow trees wit the sapling?

Ok, I have the saplings and I've planted them but there not growing.

They take forever to grow.
Its like planting a queen bee on a tree, waiting to get some beeswax from it.

I think it takes like a week.
I'm going to assume you're new to Creativerse, as of now, V2 is a lot worst when its comes to growing trees. V1 was able to grow quickly, sadly.

Oddly enough I planted a sapling the other day and it turned into an instant tree...less than a second for it to grow...was definitely the exception since I still had a few sapling that have never grown. I am suspecting sometimes it is a biome or general environment issue of placement. I have not pinned down the exact reason since it takes so long to grow normally.

Hi jnobles,

Ashenwood and Cragwood saplings like growing on dirt or on the grass. Elderwoods seem to grow best in the forest. Make sure there's some water nearby, and that they have room to grow up. Sometimes it takes a few in-game days to get one to grow -- and some folks have reported that it can take a little longer in the latest updates. If you're waiting for the sapling to grow, it's a good idea to logged in near your sapling when the night ends and the game day begins -- that's often when they decide to grow or wait another day.

Thanks I thoght I planted them wrong or they needed bonemeal like Minecraft. The reason I needed the tree was so I could place the Queen Bee near my house.

for that just place one wood log on grass. on top of that one leaf. and the queen bee on top of that. will take a few days to make wax.. but good way to start farming.

if i remember correctly, it says fallow because it can not grow there, it either doesn't have water, the biome doesn't support it, or it is to crowded

I have locked this thread due to how old it is. Saplings still remain a bit of a mystery, but people have been able to grow them in clusters and in different locations. If the spot you want to have a tree says fallow then you may want to consider just building one there.
