How to get arcstone

Hi People,
I am really loving this game but i have a hard time getting arcstone.
Anyone got any tips?

The only way to get arcstones is by killing Keepas. They drop 1-3 stones. If you cannot find a keepa wait for the blue ping on your compass and staying in an area for a longer period of time will increase the chances of keepa spawning.

But make sure to have full stamina and a strong weapon ready, those guys are FAST...

They also can jump 3 blocks high :S so the best way to catch them is to stay around the lava or corruption layers. They usually don't move as they cannot "path" properly.

A really effiecient way to farm keepas is to clear out a large area, ie. 100 x 100. Then put up 4 high walls all around. Make sure you fill in any caves underneathe you so keeps dont spawn in there. Then just wait in the center and watch as your keepas are trapped within your walls. Replace any mud on your ground so you don't get slowed down while chasing the keepas.

I found this out while building a huge structure. Also, the more people you have in that area, the more keepas will spawn. Happy Hunting :)

Yes, I'm sure it could be. With the least amount of work involved, just get a ton of friends in one location. We had about 7 people in an area and the Keepa spawns were amazing (around 1 every 5-10 minutes) xD

Not sure if something has changed with R13 though, as I have not seen one Keepa since..

I see them fairly often, have 2 stacks of arcstone at the moment. Dunno if there are some sort of special circumstances to increase the spawnrate (without having more players around)

well you ahve to stick aroudn one area for a long time when you do they seem to increase in spawn rate same with chests they like wide open areas feilds and hills are where i have seen the most spawn not many in forests some in deserts tip for chaseing press and release the run key to conserve stamina also they seem to be slower to run if you go behind them and also dont have your weapon drawn(unconfirmed on weapon drawn they still run once they see you) i have had the most luck running up behind them or droping down if oyu catch them on a hill with alot of 1 high blocks they slow way down aswell ...

Why don't you just tame a keepa? I got 2.

Edit: Should probably tell you a trick how to tame them:

Yes, they can jump 3 blocks high, but they don't. What I do is take stun bombs. Stun the keepa, then dig out the blocks under him. Usually 2 blocks is enough to keep him there. Only the golden keepa did not want to stay in the 2x2x2 hole I dug for him and jumped out, so he got a nice, cozy, 2x2x3 hole for himself. The 30 seconds it takes to tame them are easy then, as they wont move once trapped.

Taming is definitely a good way to go now - but this tread started in Februrary - taming became a thing in the September release (R22? i think).
