Armor breaks too fast!
My lumite armor breaks really fast it's abit frustrating having to remake it all the time, repair bench should really be implemented aswell. :)

Thanks for the feedback, Spow!

How do other players feel the durablity of armor feels right now?

I'll include a tip: use STUN BOMBS! Easy to craft in batches of 8, stun bombs keep the bad guys from scuffing up your shiny armor, leaving you free to pummel in style and comfort.

Hi Brain,

Thanks for asking, while the stun bombs are a huge help, I don't always have them on me or don't get them fired off in time, and my armor does take quite a beating.

I know there needs to be a balance between it lasting too long and being used up too quickly but if I had to vote, I'd probably ask for it to go a bit more in the "lasting longer" direction.

That being said, I do like the idea of a repair bench...

I would maybe leave the lower tiered armor as is but make ther higher tiered last longer, adding more value to those higher tiered materials.

im a big survival fan in general but i also agree lumite armour breaks to damm fast i never use it anymore just use lumite swords and cells and use diamond armour as thers so many diamonds compared to lumite and i never use diamonds for anything else , hehe it seems silly but for last few patches my rares comodity seems to be tourmaline for the coloured glasses LOL
.and PS no i did NOT spell armour wrong im from the UK

PPS im not saying you did spell it wrong we just spell it differently but had grieff for it on other boards

lol verada - armour comment was hilarious.

I do agree, about the lower level armor being just fine.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the great discussion!

We've been having discussions about this on the forums for a long time and I've been thinking a lot about this recently. One of the things that's always bugged me is that armor all breaks down at the same time. Every time you get hit, every equipped piece of armor is reduced by 1 durability. I've always hated this. So recently we implemented a random selection of which piece of equipment takes the hit. This does a few things:

* Effectively increases the durability of full sets of armor by x4 (because each piece on average is only taking 1/4 of the normal amount of damage)
* Wearing multiple pieces of armor now has benefit beyond just increasing your defense stat. If you only have a helmet on, every time you get hit your helmet will take durability loss. If you're wearing a helmet and leggings, your helmet has a 50/50 chance of being selected, effectively causing it to take half the damage it usually would.
* Reduces the probability of you losing an entire set of armor all at once (which is painful).

Hopefully this system will alleviate some of the pains people have about durability on armor. There's always more we can do (repair system anyone?) and we promise we're always thinking about those things!

Thanks again for the wonderful discussions and helping us make a better game!

As a non-creativerse user (Who insanly wants the game.), I didn't know an avenger was a developer!

But just seeing from the other comments from the discussion, I can already tell that this needs some fixing. Like others said, either a repair system or a chance.

i agree, i use as well diamond armor, cause of lumite armor breaks fast and it's abit frustrating having to remake it all the time,

A repair system would be nice, maybe a new machine that does the repairs for a minor cost, either in energy or in a sample of the raw material used to make the armor. Personally I think different creatures should have different levels of effect on durability on different armor. A leafi should not be doing much or any durability damage against diamond or above armor.

Agreed.
A repair system wouldn't just help with the armour durability, it would add a new aspect to the game; which is nice.

I also agree that Lumite armour should be way tougher given how difficult it is to get large amounts of lumite
Doctorgrabs Jun 24, 2015 @ 5:44pm
I have to agree that the lumite breaks too fast. Its pretty annoying to have to make a set just go to get more lumite. If it could be repaired that would be great or even if it just lasted longer I'd be super happy, but its not like its gonna make or break the game for me if it doesn't change. I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaally enjoying this game so fix it/ don't fix it , I'm still gonna play the hell out of this game.
ASMR gaming Jun 24, 2015 @ 7:50pm
a repair system or perhaps about a 30% longer durablitiy would be good
Minxell Jun 24, 2015 @ 8:20pm
I agree either lumite armor either needs the durability changed or were able to repair it. I mean it is the best armor we can have, so the durability at least should be different than the others. Not to mention it's more costly to get the materials and it takes longer to forge those materials.
bumbolee Jun 24, 2015 @ 9:29pm
It sounds like Thor will be fixing this with his solution making all armor (armour for our UK friends..LOL) last 4 times longer.
TheRemyD Jun 25, 2015 @ 4:15am
Here's my idea --> Put material into processor and create slabs. Then put slabs into a compressor to make patches. Patches can be applied to weapons, or armor, by sticking it together with a Glob of Goo in a repair station. (Sometimes more than 1 patch will be needed to repair the damage of an item. Say each patch repairs 20% of max durability)
