How do other players feel the durablity of armor feels right now?
I'll include a tip: use STUN BOMBS! Easy to craft in batches of 8, stun bombs keep the bad guys from scuffing up your shiny armor, leaving you free to pummel in style and comfort.
Thanks for asking, while the stun bombs are a huge help, I don't always have them on me or don't get them fired off in time, and my armor does take quite a beating.
I know there needs to be a balance between it lasting too long and being used up too quickly but if I had to vote, I'd probably ask for it to go a bit more in the "lasting longer" direction.
That being said, I do like the idea of a repair bench...
.and PS no i did NOT spell armour wrong im from the UK
PPS im not saying you did spell it wrong we just spell it differently but had grieff for it on other boards
I do agree, about the lower level armor being just fine.
Thanks for the great discussion!
We've been having discussions about this on the forums for a long time and I've been thinking a lot about this recently. One of the things that's always bugged me is that armor all breaks down at the same time. Every time you get hit, every equipped piece of armor is reduced by 1 durability. I've always hated this. So recently we implemented a random selection of which piece of equipment takes the hit. This does a few things:
* Effectively increases the durability of full sets of armor by x4 (because each piece on average is only taking 1/4 of the normal amount of damage)
* Wearing multiple pieces of armor now has benefit beyond just increasing your defense stat. If you only have a helmet on, every time you get hit your helmet will take durability loss. If you're wearing a helmet and leggings, your helmet has a 50/50 chance of being selected, effectively causing it to take half the damage it usually would.
* Reduces the probability of you losing an entire set of armor all at once (which is painful).
Hopefully this system will alleviate some of the pains people have about durability on armor. There's always more we can do (repair system anyone?) and we promise we're always thinking about those things!
Thanks again for the wonderful discussions and helping us make a better game!
Thor
But just seeing from the other comments from the discussion, I can already tell that this needs some fixing. Like others said, either a repair system or a chance.
i agree, i use as well diamond armor, cause of lumite armor breaks fast and it's abit frustrating having to remake it all the time,
Agreed.
A repair system wouldn't just help with the armour durability, it would add a new aspect to the game; which is nice.
I also agree that Lumite armour should be way tougher given how difficult it is to get large amounts of lumite
