Tilled Land

Can tilled land stay tilled land? I'll be in the middle of replanting my crops and its just poof grass. Not sure what the timing is for it but it's pretty fast.

Do you have water close by? You need water within 1 cube if tilled ground, so what I do is dig down 2 blocks, fill the bottom layer with water then put the soil back in the top layer. Other people do it different ways, such as a hole with water in it with the adjoining 8 blocks used to plant crops.

The tilled land reverting to regular grass is a random event. Sometimes it is fast, but other times it will happen slow enough for you to process all the previous crops into seeds and replant.

The trick that I have used in the past to ensure that I do not have to keep plowing my field is to have replacement seeds on me when harvesting. Then I plant in smaller batches while I harvest.

I keep having a variant of this problem, too.
I got a couple farms set up on different claims, each one fairly small and both properly done (so no problems there). I'll be doing some various activities on my claims or I'll log out and come back to roughly a third of the tilled land reverting back to dirt and there's nothing growing. It's starting to get very agitating because I'm burning through plows and time trying to get it set back up again.

This is not the same issue and this post is old. Please make a new thread in the Bugs & Issues sub-forum describing your issue in detail. It sounds like a connection/simulation issue
