Double check... How to stop mobs from spawning and how high does they jump??
I have an area fenced off to be my farming area, i havethe whole area covered by gas lamp, and are trenched off with a 3 block deep trench, but i still have lefies spawn in the farming area from time to time... I don't remember this happens to any light covered area before...

And also, after the latest patch, how high does mobs jump now? cos I start to see pigsy "walk" up a small steep of 2 blocks tall without any problem, which render my old 2 blocks deep trence useless and I have to dug it deeper to stop pigsy geting into my teleporting area for my hunting cabin... Is this normal now that mobs can jump 2 blocks instant of 1 blocks?

I'm pretty sure they have always been able to jump two blocks. They've always been able to while they are chasing me at least.

they can jump 2 blocks... but cannot go over a 1 high fence. I use Iron Fence (because I like the way it looks) in my mob spawning areas and even though the mobs are actually 1 block higher than the fence they cannot and will not cross it.

If the 3 block trench is a bit much for you then you could always make a moat or a small water feature to prevent mobs from getting to your base.

As far as the Night Leafis go... is it possible that you have a gap under your area that has some grass they can spawn on. If so they may be spawning there and then glitching out to get you.

If it is normal Leafis then yes they will spawn on grassy areas no problem no matter what light level. (Also fences should keep the mobs out if they spawn outside your farm.

this is what i was talking about in the other thread where i mentioned having the arc lighting as a mob repellent. this way we have a way to control areas we want to remain mob free zones.

It was the normal lefie, the whole area was covered iwth over 20 gas lamp, so there will be no chance for night lefies

Normal Leafies can spawn wherever they want, if you put grass or leaves in your building they can spawn in there too.

I still think the night guys should be hurt by some of the brighter lamps like they are the sun, it would provide an additional weapon type AOE DOT damage depending on how bright the lamp is.

Or a flare gun that shoots balls that explode in super bright light and vaporize the night creatures like those exploding balls in that Blade movie.
And a pigsy just spawned as well... XD

For real, we need range weapon...
And sunglasses against Miru's flash attack...

I would like to have a lite source that you could drop. It would be huge early game for finding mineral water in caves. Mineral water is life early on.

Mineral water is still a must have in curreption level, if you drop it on the ground, it will function as damage over time barrier against currepted mobs...

and if you dug a 1x2 hole and put 1 block of mineral water in there, you can pull any mob to that location then fight them by standing in that hole, and you will find it make you immue to most of the attacks and curreption effects from enemy's attack... that means you can kill loads of enemy without taking a hit, which save you a lot on your armor... which is importent to some unlucky folks like me, who always have issue finding the arc stone for end tier armor.

mineral water is kinda outdated since R23

once you get to lumite cells corrupted bread is way to go as it'll inverse the corrupted dmg saying that that corruption will act like mineral water. As the buff remains active for about 8 minutes it's also less stressful on the cell. the only downside is that you need corrupted water for the bread (1 block of water for 2 bread)

I use mineral water to keep currepted mobs away from the locations that i want to be mob free, like around the telepoter or so, and I set healing pools around the explored area as healing station and mob grinding spot, which I truelly like the effect that some how provent mob's attacks or curreption to hit you, so it saves on both potion and armor for me... And you can use 1 block of water over and over, but bread can only be eaten once :P

sure if the water shall remain its good to use i definitly wont deny that ( is use it for any entryspot too) but if you wanna large areas for hunting things or chests i think bread is the better option. u wont have to worry about any dmg for like 16 minutes (2 breads) and for the area you can cover this way u will lose a lot more duration of your cell if you'd be using mineral water only
