i headed far north of the start location and found it. Had to run through quite a bit (maybe 10-15 minutes of just running mainly north. Go through quite a few biomes, but eventually hit the forest before the great ocean (which did not seem to end)

I usually find jungles touching swamps and savannahs. I can usually tell that an area is jungle from far off by checking for vines growing from the trees down to the ground independent of the wood.

Feral Pigsy fur? Those can be found in savanahs too. Pigsy is naked :steamhappy: he has no fur.

And as TheRemyD said, if you find there are really long strands of blocks coming down from trees and the ground is brown (not dirt) then you're in a jungle. They're pretty warm as well.

Hey Remy - good to see Playful recognized your contributions to these forums (haven't been around for a while myself).

OT - Can you confirm this, or is this only anecdotal? Cause it's a bit of a pain to find jungles, especially without any mapping. Or maybe you could confirm some mapping... :P

how would a map assist you in finding a biome? however jungles do seem to be a bit harder to find than any other, but like Remy stated if you run across a swamp (or bog) then theres a jungle nearby in most cases.

good luck with the biome hunting people :)
I too can confirm that jungles are often, though not always, next to savannah, swamps, or both.

Based on similar games, the map would reveal edges that the player might have missed.

Mostly though, it'd just show where you'd been and didn't need to revisit.

i suppose, sorry i never used the map in MC and frankly i don't see a use for it (for me anyway) all i need is the compass and // .... and i'm good ;)

There is one other way that can be very helpful... check out this thread to find out what world template you are in and then ask for some coordinates from people that share your world template. http://steamcommunity.com/app/280790/discussions/3/483367798505632834/
