How to place down the extractor?

So, my friend and i are playing this game and we finally start making a house and we made the proccessor and then the extractor but we can't place it down. Can anyone help?

Hi crimsonmoon129,

Welcome to the community! Exctractors only work if you're placing them directly on nodes of resources -- coal, obsidian, iron, and so on. Scope out some caves where there's lots of limestone & bedrock and you'll usually start to see nodes here & there. Mountains and cliffs with lots of exposed stone are also good sources.

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome and for the tip because it worked and i'm super happy. But now i can't find any coal and it's making it really hard to move forward with the game and building my home/base.

I had the same problem early on as well.

Wander mountain tops and - if you're feeling brave enough - explore some caves.

I'm not a fan of caves, personally, but my coal problems disappeared once I realized that there's coal all over the place on the top/side of mountains.

Well, I wouldn't recommend going too high-up; if there's a lot of snow, it might hide the coal. But just wander, you'll find some.

Mountains as in stone covered high altitudes but not snow covered! Its easy to find there.

I'm confused, I tried placing the extractor on a coal lode but it won't place aka nothing happens. I right click with the extractor highlighted on my hotbar. I hovered my mouse over the coal lode when I right click. Is my game bugging out?

Nvm I relogged and it fixed it.

You'll find the orange-coloured extractor of great help when you find the recipe. It triples the output so, for example, you get 18 Coal/Obsidian instead of the 6 the very basic extractor gives you. With Diamond you get 9 per node instead of 3, etc. and so forth.
