Entire hotbar gone after loggin into my world

I didn't post this earlier due to an issue with my account. Don't know if someone experienced this before.
So, this happened a couple days ago. I was just doing my build in my private world as usual, nothing special. I was buildig a pretty tall roof in a desert when I decided to quit the game and come back after a few hours, just like I usually do. When I came back to my world I can't believe what just happened: all the stuff I had in my hotbar is gone. I know I didn't die because the stuff in my bag was still there. Like for real, what the hell is the meaning of this? I mean it's not like I can't recover my stuff but I don't understand why this happened. I had a lot of advanced health potions, lighting blocks and other blocks I was gonna use and it was just all gone. Is this a glitch? Because if it is, it's a game-breaking one. Or if it's just some kind of punishment from the devs, please don't punish me anymore. I really love this game and building alone but this made me very upset and I just don't want this to happen to me again.

Check the world settings, there are separate settings to send the inventory / hotbar / equipment to the death statue on death, so the fact that you have stuff in the backpack isn't evidence of not having died anymore (due to the separated settings introduced in The Definitive Edition).

Once you're checking the world settings, also verify whether you have the Death Statue marker in the HUD enabled or not - make sure it's enabled and check whether you have a skull marker in the compass at the top of the screen.

As a sidenote, even if there was a bug causing stuff to go lost, pretty much everything can be obtained quickly having access to Creator Mode (and using the /give command in case of recipe items if needed), but I'd rather investigate the problem better to fully understand what happened, this additional sidenote is just about potential workarounds if there really is a bug (which of course we'd try to fix, but first we'd need to verify if there's really a bug here, cause this is the first report of this kind since TDE got released on December 2022)

Yes, getting into Creator Mode would have hidden the normal quickbar and would have shown the Creator Mode quickbar, but if they were in Creator Mode, they wouldn't have been able to see their backpack contents (which is what they reported when they mentioned not having died) - guess we'll have to wait for them to report back to understand what's really happening.
