I wonder what I am doing wrong, clearly I am too stupid to use that interface.
Right... bed time... sorry for the bother! :D Thanks again!

Maybe I have been playing too long. :D
If you manage your screen shots on steam, it makes them easier to share here.
It should be enough to just place / pull (or even just "tickle" a block without fully pulling it) to trigger the rendering of that chunk and fix the problem.
If you keep having the same problem consistently in the very same spot you may be hitting a variant of such a glitch which could be sorted out in another way, but for that it's probably better if you contact me directly on Discord (entuland#7134) so that I can visit the area and see the problem first hand - if you can't put your world online to be joined from outside your LAN there's anothe way to investigate it, but we'll tackle that privately if needed.
I don't have the latest machine but certainly not the weakest one, but I still might have just overdone it a bit. Closed the game and today no issues whatsoever. Maybe a memory leak after a while? Who knows.
I also noticed that the game starts lagging considerably, when I craft things and has micro-freezes throughout (i.e. when the crafting animations start, no matter if crafting fast or slow or batches, when starting to glide, when running and jumping at the same time and quickly build a row of blocks). But I have the feeling it appears more when the game has been running for a while. Anyway, not a major issue. I'll try to see if I can reproduce a couple of things. I am already quite happy that my chunk came back (I restarted though, no block tickling, hehe). :-) Nothing broke as such and none of it is a deal breaker.
As an early supporter it's quite nice to see how far the game has come.
If you filter for the thing you want to craft, or use the option to autocollapse the categories, the freezing should become far less noticeable or go away completely.
Unfortunately there's not much we can do for such a specific case, the user interface plugin we use just happens to be slow when there are a lot of icons in the same list - the above two approaches could work it around.
The game causing troubles when kept running for a long amount of time could very well be, it may be a good idea to leave and enter the world when you start noticing unusual behaviors after having played for a long time.
The only slope-like blocks which are still crafted in the backpack are the Galactic Striped Wall Slope and the Galactic Pipes.
The same goes for the majority of the stairs as well - the basic tier ones (wood, stone, obsidian, iron, diamond, lumite) and the main themed ones (bungalow, haunted, medieval, hidden temple, industrial, galactic) are crafted, but all the others are processed from full cubic blocks.
Again.. sorry...
Right... got it now... it's just so confusing with all the changes in making blocks and the recipes changing... I'm sure to some it makes sense, but it's just odd to me.
I use to just look them up on the Creativerse Wiki ( so nice, so handy ) and when I asked if anyone was going to change / update it I got a rude reply from one of the players here...
But I'm muddling through...
Thanks again.
For what it's worth, you can launch a world, go to the Webadmin (icon "user with shield" in the world editing page when running a local world), then go over to Tools > Reference and search for any block / item there, the reference is quite technical but you should still be able to figure out how to unlock / obtain most of the things from there.
As for the Wiki, if you have any information to add to it and you believe you can do following the guidelines of Wiki editing, you're free to contribute.
As for any problem you may have with any other player posting in these forums the correct way to handle that is to report the offending posts using the Steam report button on the relevant post.
