Creativerse R31 -- Character Customization & Blueprint Bonanza!
Hi Creatifriends!

Some of the best parts of Creativerse have been shaped by your feedback, so we're excited to announce yet another awesome feature based on your suggestions: character customization! Click the settings icon on the main menu to put your own unique spin on your Creativerse character. To help bring it to life, we’ve updated our character models with some fresh faces, plus new gear and animations.

Once your uniquely customized avatar is ready for action, be sure to to check out the new blueprint crafting tab. We think blueprints are a bunch of fun, so we moved them out of the store and made them free for everyone. We've also added a bunch of new blueprints, and the option to buy all the blocks if you want to get started building your Mushroom House or Cragwood Keep instantly.

New Features and Content
  • New blueprint content and system changes
    • New blueprints available!
    • Blueprints moved out of the store
    • New blueprints crafting tab added to the crafting / inventory UI
    • Blueprint cornerstones are now craftable items with different recipes per cornerstone
    • All blueprints are now free
    • Blueprint Kit purchasing now available - get all blocks for a blueprint and start building immediately
  • Character color customization! Change your character’s look in the account settings on the main menu
  • New main character models, armor models & icons, and animations
  • Major audio pass, especially for UI screens
  • /ignore <username> command added to mute chat from specific players
  • /setspawn command added for world owners and admins to set a specific spawning location for new players that enter a world

Improvements
  • Main HUD UI improvement pass
  • Creature behavior
    • Pathing data adjusted to prevent deep-cave creatures from travelling so far upwards
    • Enemy aggro ranges generally reduced
  • Door improvements
    • Doors now open in both directions
    • Doors now place smartly when placed adjacent to each other
    • Double doors will now open together when either is activated
  • Revised and improved pet hotkey commands
    • “Y” orders nearby pets to follow; can also highlight one pet and hit Y to have just that pet follow
    • “U” orders following pets to wander again, starting from the targeted block
    • “I” orders pets to stay at the target block
    • These hotkeys are all reassignable
    • Pets will stay within fence enclosures if set to wander
  • AI improvements
    • AI paths better through small openings and gates
    • AI less likely to get stuck in doorways
  • Death statues now default to owner-only permission (anti-griefing measure)
  • Scrollbar added to crafting panel
  • Helmets replaced with shoulder pads (to support additional future customization options)

Bugfixes
  • Fix for falling through the world sometimes when entering a new world
  • Fix for thrown goo and flares destroying other entities (like chests)
  • Fixed issue where taming warmworms would change other nearby pet commands
  • Fixed issues where warmworms would sink into the ground when coming back to the area
  • Sound effects volume slider now properly saves when changed
  • On claimed land, can no longer ask for builder permission if you already have it
  • Fixed bug that would cause AI to jump through parts of the world
  • Door states now properly persist
  • Touchstone now claimable to the quickbar(fixes being unable to reclaim in certain situations)

We'll be getting a fix out for this problem soon. The good news is that we don't think you've lost your items - it's likely a problem selecting the presents. Thanks for the report!

I think this version of the pay system for blueprints makes a lot more sense; A whole lot more. Anyway, please keep it up. The builds look like they'll be pretty fun to make. Just try to start out on the right footing before you go big. 1,500 to 3,000 players in game isn't that bad. The game's playing pretty smooth for me right now too, which is awesome.

HUGE BUG:
After I built something or even create a flat area by deleteing the blocks and open my Inventory with "E" My game just close with the Error: "creativerse.exe doesn't work anymore" EVERYTIME even after restarting the Game when I do something for 10min+ and press E it just crash!!! wtf?!

I've only played this game for 3 maybe 4 weeks and have enjoyed almost the entire time. I went too deep cave diving when I started this game and that was rough. But aside from that Creativerse has been really fun. Now I must say I do not like the look of the new character models. The new look of the mining cells is another tweak to the game that I do not like. I do like that we are able to customize our character a bit but the new look (in my opinion) does not fit with the current theme or look of any Creativerse world.

I know R31 was a ton of work and I can appreciate that. I do like this game, but as some of you know I've become quite frustrated with the lack of new items in the game that have been requested forever, like despawning leaves, new mobs, new ores, new recipes, pregen structures just to name a few.

I don't play multiplayer so all the new additions have zero impact to me, but I'm sure the multiplayers do appreciate them. But only a small portion of people have asked for customized characters and a map and almost no one asked from land claims and other stuff recently. And now that mobs can stomp your face from 1.5 kilometers away, combat is just dumb.

So, I took a hiatus when R30 came out and waited with some excitement for R31 and really got ansy with the delay as in my mind the devs were working on lots of good stuff.

Once again, very disappointed. I'm not being negative about the game, so lets get that clear right off. I love CV. It's just the majority of things being added have nothing to do with how I play.

If you want some great ideas, take a look at the "Life in the Woods" mod for Minecraft. Holy crap, 100's and 100's of cool stuff.

So, I will still stay away from the game and once again, hope R32 has some of the things listed above.

Keep up the good work devs, just focus on single player items for a while now.

Seems like all the hot spots for the UI are in the wrong places. Have to click an inch or so above every button, never did figure out the scroll bars. ...

I do have this issue too in Full Screen Mode. I have to click somewhere above buttons and boxes to hit them - including all orange buttons from the start of the game ("play") as well as during the game, also the quickslots too, all the boxes and the sidescrolling bar (which is really tricky to "hit" right) in the character creation, options, pet-commands, etc. etc. etc.

To give an actual example: if I open the pet-window and click on the green dot next to "Stay", the check mark appears at "Wander" below that, and if I click on the green dot for "Wander", the check mark is activated at "Follow". Also in the Visual settings - by clicking on the green circle for "Enable Motion Blur", the button below for "Enable Bloom" is turned off/on... and so on.

This problem can be "solved" by changing into Windows Mode... However as the biggest possible window-size is much smaller than my screen I'm not fond of that...

Yes, the Current Content-BuildID is 1133929. No, restarting Steam does not help at all, not even restarting the whole PC helped in any way, nor de/activating Steam Overlay or Desktop Game Theatre.

It might have to do with my display settings for Windows 7 prof. (ServPack 1, 64 bit)? I've set the size of characters/letters (for the Explorer, Desktop etc.) to 125% for comfort...

Besides that some of my pets still glitch through the floor when starting the game sometimes - and next time some are put back after restart/relog, but sometimes they drop even deeper, like to the ocean floor under water :D Maybe they will stop doing that if I set them to "wander" instead of "stay", will test a bit.

Other than that this patch brought really interesting and promising changes which are the first important step to even better future improvements. I think my crystal ball is showing me ... hats? ;)

Thanks for listening to the community - nearly all of the new stuff has been asked for/suggested by players via the forums at one point. Even those players who still complain have had some of their wishes granted in actual fact (like with the valuable /ignore - command and the /setspawn).

You might want to check you keybindings. It sounds like you may have a couple that are duplicated. If nothing seems to be duplicated then try clicking on the reset keybindings option to return them to default. This may fix this for you, although you are the first person I have heard that has had this problem.

If the game is crashing randomly then please send us any output_log.txt files generated when you crash? On Windows, check [Steam folder]\steamapps\common\Creativerse for time-stamped crash report folders. These crash report folders may contain an output_log.txt file that would be helpful.

If you don’t see any of those crash folders, grab an output_log.txt from [Steam folder]\steamapps\common\Creativerse\Creativerse_Data the next time you crash.

First, let me say that I love, love, love the new blueprints. I just crafted the cornerstone for the mushroom house, but I already know that I want to make them all. Especially the Chizzard Coop and the barn. So fun.

I'm also happy that we have character customization now. It may seem like a little thing, but hair and skin customization is very exciting to me.

I do have to say that I'm a bit put off by the change in our avatar. Maybe it will take some getting used to, but this new avatar doesn't quite seem like part of the Creativerse world. It stands out too much against the art style of the blocks and furniture, especially with the new designs for armor and mining gloves. It's certainly not enough to make me stop playing the game, but stylistically I feel the old avatars looked more like they belonged in this game world.

I dont see why this was added before other things as we cannot see our own avatar since there isnt a 3rd person view (well there is but you cant do anything with it on or it turns off)

Also since there is almost no gear in the game this doesnt make sense to add before other stuff

double doors tho!

Also having excavator issues same as Shamus. I would also like to point out a couple more. The text on the signs seem to be having texture issues as well. I could sometimes see through them as if the letters were cut out of the Wooden Sign.

And one more. I bought the Barn blueprint but I can't seem to finish it. Current status on the Barn is I'm still missing 343/359 Wood Fence and 29/45 Gas Lamp. I've already walked around dozens of time to make sure I didn't miss a spot and I don't see any red markings. I even enabled everything on the Advance options and I still couldn't find anything.
