Fan Elevator Help !
Is there a height limit that "stacked" fans can lift someone? My fan elevator stop in the middle then goes down then up again, never straight up. It's about 50+ blocks high... thanks for the help :2016snocone:

Someone build a launcher tower out of fans for glider user and it suddenly pushes you down to death if you don't use the glider to get past this barrier.

Can't confirm. Just have built 70 blocks high elevator, it works with no issues.

How many blocks did you set them apart... and is it vertical?

weird....mine slows down in the middle then goes downwards then upwards again and repeat til i reach the top... maybe because mine is enclosed?

I think might glitches somehow due to ping or desync. If it the same for your friends or anyone you test it with, maybe add another fan in there or reduce distance by1-2 blocks.

it's the same for both me and my friends that use it, but i'll try adding fans in between since i placed them 5 blocks apart

The fan will push you up by 5 or 6 blocks. Though, I've had issues with the fan not pushing me past the minimum of 5 blocks and I get stuck. Anyone had this issue?

Mine are 5 blocks apart, and work with no issues. It's possible if you experience any lag while moving up it might mess with momentum, I've noticed lag causing some odd physics behaviours before.

im guessing your reaching the max speed in game and it stops you. We had the same issue, tried spacing them apart more. basically you hit a certain speed and it stops you. If you have enough fans to get you going and past that spot it will get you to that same speed and stop again. you have to find the amount of fans that get you right to the speed limit.

Really? That's interesting. I might do some testing on that.

yes this is what i've suspected when it happened, though i wasn't sure yet... i'll try spacing them more and see what happens

I fixed it by increasing the spacing between the fans by 2-3 blocks... i can go straight up without stopping now... :steamhappy:

I am building an obelisk in my Egypt build. I wanted to be able to use a delay gate and a pressure plate to turn the fans on and then when I get to the top they all turn off. Also same for Trap Doors to get down but in reverse. once I get to the top. I step on a trap door and open them one at a time all the way down and then hit a switch to close them all again.

I just can't figure out how its all supposed to be connected.

Please help.

My fans keep turning off half way up my structure. I am planning on emailing support about this particular bug. In the mean time we should post it to the Bugs forum.

There should not be any limit to the number you stack up but for some weird reason some of them turn off.
