The wiki is a good spot to get a feeling of the amount of items, mobs, biomes and whatnot that you have available without actually having to discover / unlock them in game:
https://creativerse.fandom.com/wiki/Creativerse_Wiki
Creativerse has no modding mechanics of any kind, but it has more than 1K different blocks / items, among natural ones and craftable ones, this webtool lists pretty much them all and more get added regularly with updates:

Creativerse is mainly building focused, the survival mechanics are somewhat secondary, but there is a good deal of stuff to experience and learn, and quite a bit of progress to be made, regardless of the main focus.
Many players still play the game, but it varies wildly depending on the time of the day, the day of the week, the month and so forth, so even if the average may be about a few hundreds per day, the total of active players at different times is likely much higher than that - the Discord server has an average of 1000 accounts online and about 5000 accounts total.
One major difference you may find is that worlds are in general less populated than other games, because all worlds (including the ones owned by Free to Play players) are always available online, hosted by Creativerse servers, whereas in other games you have to pay to put your world online or host it somehow, causing the online players to cluster together more easily because there are less online worlds to play on.
Being a voxel based game, directly or indirectly inspired by Infiniminer just like Minecraft and many others, you'll find a lot of similarities but also a lot of differences in the various mechanics, so as above, the best way to get a feeling is really to play it first hand and see for yourself if you would enjoy it or not.
Mobs that have already spawned will remain there until the area gets fully unloaded and reloaded, to make them despawn.
Mobs spawned in another claim may still walk into a claim where spawns are disabled.
The pure survival way of avoiding spawns is placing at least one light in each chunk (this mechanism is quite different from MC), more info about chunks, since that concept as well is different from MC:

Mobs shouldn't spawn on crafted blocks or on pure natural Stone, but that's a quirky mechanic and you may still have mobs glitching or spawning in the wrong spots due to some bug - the best thing is probably to gear up the best you can as you progress, keeping food or potions to regenerate your health, and throwables (stun bombs) if you're in a very tight spot and need to flee or something.
Food is Over 9000 in Creativerse. Try and get Mushroom Sandwiches or at least Mushroom Soup as soon as you can for the health regen, then aim for the other Sandwiches starting from the Wholesome one - I won't spoil more, but there is definitely more to tackle harder areas of the worlds.
Playing solo is totally okay, and when you are ready, you could as well open your world and advertise it (but beware that administering a world isn't little work).
Unfortunately I can't point out any world in particular, the only ones I can advise are the official Playfulverse ones (the original one by Brainsloth, then the RW5 to RW8 ones by APlayfulGuy, and finally RW4 by Valentina) - all of these have admins which will not ban you on a whim and will be available in case of need for problems with other players.
Definitely take your time and get to know a world and its administration before investing any meaningful amount of time in any world you don't own - each world owner has full powers and full rights, they could lock the world, delete it, reset it, ban or kick, even for no reason whatsoever other than simply wanting to, and they are totally free to do so.
In case you decide to go public with your world, to protect it properly:
