How can i copy the Paint from a Existing Block?
Hello,

is it possible to copy the paint from a existing block and use this color for a other Block? E.g.: Copy the color from a medievel brick wall and use it for a lime Wall?

And can i Edit a Existing Blocks color: darker, brighter, less or more saturated.

You can only copy paint from already painted blocks.

Copying is done by holding down the Paint key (defaults to CONTROL) and hitting C while aiming at a block.

The default key to open the paint customization / palette is the "." (period) - there you can pick from 255 different colors for both primary and secondary paint, and decide whether to give an emissive value to them as well.

To match the hue of an unpainted block you have to find the closest paint yourself, picking from the palette.

This video may provide some more help about how to use the paint feature:

Thx i feared so. A nice feature the painting, but i cant fine tune the saturation and brightness, that is important for me.

From my limited foray into painting, it helps if you paint everything just a little bit. Well, almost everything.

I would recommend starting with a painted block, not an unpainted block. Matching paint to an existing block can be very difficult. Matching existing blocks to painted blocks is easier. (We've been doing this forever, pretty much.) If it doesn't quite match, you can usually tweak the colors by painting it just a bit. Some unpainted blocks, like woods & stones, work very well and are very versatile within their color genres.

I find that picking 2-3 basic colors to start my build works really well. Blacks, whites, and grays match just about everything.

Unpainted blocks have a lot of love put into their artwork and a range of colors that painting doesn't fully express. When you can go natural, go natural. Painting is the most powerful tool this game has seen in a long time, but it's not the answer to every single block. Don't forget that every block has original artwork with a great range of color to each.
