pet controls

So, ive been scouring the internet for more information on these pet controls that I have been seeing spoken about. Apparently, you can aim at a block with a pet on follow, and press the i key, to tell the following pet to go to that block and stay. Also read that Y tells the surrounding pets to follow you.

Ive read various stipulations though... such as the i key will only command a pet onto a crafted block, then read from another person that this isnt the case. Ive read that you have to have your taming collar equipped to use these functions, but also some people saying it doesnt matter..... All of this is great and all.... except for none of this seems to work at all...

Ive tried all scenarios described above.... firstly, i'd like to point out that i is defaulted as a secondary key for your bag.... I removed its bag binding and tried i again, still nothing. Y is equally disappointing.

So, how do you get these to work? any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I ( stay) Y( follow ) and U ( wander I believe ) were the old keyboard defaults for those commands , they got rebound to different keys sometime in the past . I just rebound those actions to those keys in the options menu .

Mac users are experiencing a bug that selects all the pet commands , it has been filed and hopefully will see some eyes soon .
