Linux support? Proton?
Anyone know if this works?

My niece loves this game. Currently considering options to let her play without giving up my PC.

Hello there KitsuneShiro,
I've heard of players using something named Steam Play on Linux, though it's not officially mentioned anywhere in the Creativerse store page and as such it's most likely not supported - assuming it works properly at all.

OS and launcher aside, the specs should still be decent for your PC, the devs are working hard on improving the performance but the game by its very nature seems to be mainly CPU bound - for the little I understand about it, that is :P

I've just played about 30 minutes of the game using Proton.. it seems more or less fine to me. There is some missing text on a couple of the buttons in the options menu - likely it could be fixed using one of the launch options I don't know right now.

If you do you want to try it, need to enable option "Enable Steam Play for all other titles" in the steamplay category of the settings menu of the Steam client.
TY lets keep this tread going, would seriously consider losing MicroSNOBS for good if it works consistantly.

Thanks for the info. I will have to test it on one of my linux computers.

Will it run without a dedicated gpu?

I think so because the game works with the Unity Engine. So far the Unity Engine works really well with Proton and DXVK.
But as nearly every game i use "I use "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 DefaultLimitNOFILE=1048576 DXVK_HUD=1 %command%"
In the commands, just to get a little more fps. :)

linux proton vulcan
works using proton (steam play) but for some reason the screen when in world is pitch black on my system the only thing i can guess is my system does not have vulkan so its disabled for my proton which could be the cause.

Merged with this most recent thread on proton - maybe the proton users can assist you. In addition, you may shoot an email to support@playfulstudios.com and see if you can get any assistance that way.

The game is not supported via this system and there are graphical issues if you are using a mac - so contacting support may help as some workarounds exist for mac users.

Did you try "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" in Launch Options?
DW_Taya Jun 13, 2019 @ 12:21am
yes i have also manually configured via user_settings.py its the only way i was able to get games like skyrim to work because most apps and games crash but stay active if i try to run them without

#Use OpenGL-based wined3d for d3d11 and d3d10 instead of Vulkan-based DXVK "PROTON_USE_WINED3D": "1",

i have already explained this my graphics card does not have support for vulkan

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/47js6g/fermi_gpus_are_not_getting_vulkan_support/

edit:
commented out the command above the game still runs with the command that was requested but i still get the same issue the environment when i lode into a world is black i can't see anything except the glove and lights reflecting off of it aside from the hud.

my origional post was not a request for help but intended for those who are seeking to run this game but are in a similar situation of not having a vulkan capable card.

Well then this is a good place so that people who are looking for proton can see what has worked and how it is not working for you
DW_Taya Jun 20, 2019 @ 3:49am
my graphics card kicked the bucket i was going to try this game with NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.116 but that didn't pan out as it caused my failing graphics card to just die, but falling back to the motherboard graphics card i was able to see the world render all though very low frame rate with [AMD/ATI] RS780 [Radeon HD 3200]
