Water Trap Door Issues
I've never posted here before but I was a bit confused about something. Trying to create a system where I can flip a switch and open some doors for water to flow through. Right now water physics is pretty weak since even when I make a set of double doors and try letting water flow through it STILL doesn't work like there's an invisible wall there.
(I also tried doing this with trap doors to no success and also encountered something where only one trap door would open when multiple trap doors are placed side by side. I have no idea if this is a glitch.)

I read in a different post that one of the devs said they'd patch in the ability for water to flow through doorways but so far nothing and that was over a year ago. Did they actually patch it in and I'm just missing something?

There doesn't seem anything like that so far - not even the Ice Door lets liquids flow through.

It would be great if they allowed all sorts of doors to stop water from flowing, would be extremely useful in several different cases.

You could use block phasers to make that system, flip a switch to turn on the phaser then the water comes through turn it off and the water is off :)

Have you tried gates?

@TheLast: sure thing, we could use phasers, but they are bugged - if you leave them on they tend to eat the blocks they're phasing, so you can't have certain setups without risking breaking them every once in a while.

@spared_life: yep, tried with gates as well, not working.

The current system has advantages too. I've made some pretty awesome traps & secret entrances where I can get through, but water can't. The trap that killed Brainsloth had a nasty trick that would kill you even if you knew the code to open the doors. You had to stand in exactly the right spot, face the right way, and move at the right time, all while inputting the code in about 5 seconds. I knew the trap like the back of my hand & I still got stuck in it myself now & then.

It's not useful for turning water on & off, but you can do some really fun stuff with the current mechanics.

As TheLast points out, phasers will do this. Be very patient with them. Don't try to phase solid blocks into or out of a liquid. Instead, phase the liquid. Also, make sure all phasers are off before leaving the area (or leaving the world), make sure all other machinery is off before leaving, and don't leave the area too quickly. I had great luck with phasers for a long time & I'm now back to having great luck with them again. The only problems I encountered were when I used them in big machine builds. Machines lag the game slightly. Complex machines lag it a lot. Once the machine is turned off, your game needs a little time to "catch up" so it can remember where everything is supposed to be. I learned I had to wait quite a while after turning off my circuit before I could safely leave the area, otherwise random patches of phased blocks would be gone forever.

Oh, and never phase anything you're not willing to lose.

Simple, liquid thru door wil be nice. And door /trap door rotating to horizontal too.
